Clapton Winwood BBC1

For those in the UK or able to watch BBC Iplayer, the Eric Clapton + Steve Winwood gig at Madison [] last year is currently on BBC1, appologies if there are other threads related.

Re: Clapton Winwood BBC1

yeah. I saw a piece of the fleetwood mac thing. I was lying in bed switching channels and saw the green manalishi. hey what a coincedence, just saw peter green live. Don't really care for the later fleetwood mac though, but must admit that Lindsey buckingham knows how to play a guitar.
Then the Clapton Winwood thing. But I fell asleep. Was already 0:00 and had to work in the morning. Was it any good?

Re: Clapton Winwood BBC1

The BBC broadcast was only an hour long according to Iplayer, I would have assumed it was longer?

Re: Clapton Winwood BBC1

The broadcast is undoubtedly an excerpt of the DVD. Its purpose is to get you to buy the DVD.

one hour, and maybe five songs... pretty amazing though.

Re: Clapton Winwood BBC1

Saw it, liked it, but seriously... Did they really need to broadcast a 16 minute version of Voodoo Chile? he Fleetwood documentary in front of it was great as well.

Re: Clapton Winwood BBC1

I still need to go buy the DVD. I have a copy I downloaded off the internet, but watching it on my computer isn't the same as watching it on the 52" HDTV in the other room with 7.1 surround.

I saw the DVD right before I saw Clapton and Winwood in Phoenix back in June. Seeing them live was amazing.

I've actually been listening to the live CD since I got back from class today. It's so good.

Yes, for historical context. I thought they really did a great version of that song and its one of the highlights of the set.

Dear Mr. Fantasy, Can't Find My way Home, and Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, were the other reasons to get the full show.

What the hell was Low Spark of High Heeled Boys? They didn't play that on the DVD.

I haven't seen the DVD so I can't comment on that, but in general tv stuff is the greatest hits package. Unless you're a guitar junkie (like we are) you will zap on to the nexy channel. A drum solo is for me the time to get a refill of my glass.

I never saw the DVD, but I have a bootleg of the MSG show that was recorded from the 10th row, really good sound quality. I'll dig up the complete setlist when I get home.

I saw them at the Verizon Center, and was amazed... go figure. I just didn't like how little they interacted with the crowd.
