Halloween music: Voodoo Child FULL version
While I was driving yesterday, satellite radio played this for Halloween. Man, I haven't listened to the full version for a long time (we're used to hearing Voodoo Child Slight Return).
If you've got 9 minutes to spare, crank it up, sit back and enjoy Jimi - it's still cut a bit, should be about 15 mins. BTW, that's Steve Winwood cranking out the Hammond tones too. For you younger guys that haven't heard much Hammond, this is that Hammond/Leslie overdrive a lot of us love. |

Re: Halloween music: Voodoo Child FULL version
Clapton and Winwood when on tour last year did an outstanding version of this. Eric did the song justice, really channeled Jimi.

Re: Halloween music: Voodoo Child FULL version
I saw that concert on HD, prior to playing the song, Clapton was interviewed - he said trying to play Voodoo Child like Jimi was kinda like 'stepping off a cliff', lol.

Re: Halloween music: Voodoo Child FULL version
I got a Jimi Hendrix blues album that really changed my perception of the blues. And I really enjoyed the Claptin/Winwood version.
