Re: Shine on you crazy diamond. Cover
Oh my god ..... well, that's 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back ...... surely that guy is jesting - he has balls for posting that dreck on youtube, for sure.
Don't quite understand the serious/somber attitude and keen attention to watching his fretting hand - it doesn't help

That's so bad, I like how he's really getting into the groove, like he's playing something deep and meaningful, entertaining though.

Thanks for the advice, "Keep on Practising and don't give up the day job", it's always nice to find words of great wisdom anywhere especially on the Internet. On tone and other matters these are obviously matters of personal choice, I hope you haven't had a need for the 15 minutes you wont be getting back. I don't visit this forum very often, but do pop in now and again, I might have garnered the wrong impression but a lot of talking and not so much playing seems to get posted here, maybe it's the beavis and butthead approach that causes that?, a lot of fine matches get talked on the internet, a lot of those that speak so loud don't always play so good. |

Re: Shine on you crazy diamond. Cover
You're right, Roger, there's a lot of talk and very little playing on here. But some of us can play pretty well. Some not quite so well. Please don't judge all of the forum by the remarks in here. Check out the MLP Rally in the Backstage for some good, some average and and some not so good playing.
But it would've been better if the critical remarks were made more tactfully. I don't see the need to puncture people without cause.

Thanks for the message and the heads up to the MLP rally backstage, This is a mamouth site and something of a labyrinth to a newbie. I had a little chuckle at the comments on my post, especially the meatball one, my other half is Swedish and we spend a fair bit of time over there. On critisism, I'm more than happy to hear it, a plain "I don't like that I think it's rubbish" , doesn't actually qualify though, to criticise is to care and part of the learning process, that isn't a carteblanche to attack the confidence of an individual though. I have the skin of a Rhinoserous and it's all water off a ducks back to me. Unfortunately some very very talented people remain locked in a shell of doubt and pain as they fear being attacked by those who criticise without a care. SO i am always up for a rumble with the big mouths and I am always delighted to be proved wrong. Again thanks for the message see you around in here from time to time I'm sure. All the best Roger |

By the way I checked out the link to the MLP backstage recommended by Splattle101 and it was great.I haven't had a proper listen yet but will do. I do like Videos though, I don't have the best of ears and its great to be able to watch how people are playing things. All the best, Roger |
