LOL anytime.

My question: Who was the Cleveland radio DJ that started playing Rush's "Working Man" in regular rotation and as a result increased their audience (or as the band puts it "got the ball rolling")?

I've been checking in now and then, questions have been hard, not really a Slash fan (heresy!)

and this last question is a bit obscure, unless you lived in Cleveland

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

Alright, here we go!

A few years before the beginnings of the Who, Pete Townshend and John Entwistle formed a band. What was this band's name and what instruments did the members play?

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

The High Numbers.... just saw this on VH1 (endlessly) as they prepped for the recent VH1 Honors award the band got.

As for instruments the only thing I remember out of it was that Roger was the original lead guitarist. Is that enough??

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

Nope, wrong band name. They were the Detours when they came up with Daltrey, I'm talking before that even, it was just Pete and John. Nice try, though!

I found out that they were called the confederates. Instruments: John on French Horn, and Pete on Banjo

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

The members of the original Allman Brothers band were all part of different bands before making the Allman Brothers Band. Name the bands , and also name the band member(s) that were in those bands that eventually were members of the Allman brothers band. There are 9 bands by my count, and 6 members to choose from

All right I'll drop it down to 6 bands, and which ever one you put for Jaimoe as long as it's right, will be accepted.

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

well you got one, but one you gotta name the members of the ABB that were in that band too. If you have the Skydog book it shouldn't be too hard, plus I'm sure they have it on the ABB site, but I'm not positive.

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

Almost the first one you put for butch is wrong (wrong day and month, try earlier in the year, the early months and the last day of the month (those numbers are backwards)) and the brothers were in that one as well.

btw I like your avatar.

I'll try to help him out here and say the 31st of February... at least I think that's right

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

yeah 31st of february is right, but you have to put the brothers in that band too, cause they joined later.

You're right there is something significant about that date, but I can't remember either.

Re: The Official Rock Trivia Thread .....

all right Chasen Blues your turn. I'm letting the fact that you didn't add Duane and Gregg into the 31st of February go cause they really didn't join until the last few months of that band and Butch had been in it all along.
