I never got the Nirvana thing... at the time anyway. Looking back I can see what went on there, and why it was so important, but at the time it just pissed me off.

Most overrated band currently? Fall Out Boy. I don't think anybody else on the radio annoys me more right now. Its just so mediocre. Doesn't anybody see it?

Wow dude. You are so right. I feel the same way. Ever since Nirvana hit the scene, mediocre guitar playing has ruled the mainstream. That's what's depressing.

any group who doesn't play instrument and has 2-5 singers and calls themselves a band, and becomes famous is overrated in my opinion....(ie all the boy bands and girl groups who say they are a band) sure the musicians in the backing band (if a real band is used) might be decent but they aren't part of the band

I understand what you mean man. It's just bad when people bash great guitar playing in spite of their own mediocrity. And yeah, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden are in a different universe than Nirvana coming out of that "Grunge" era. Nirvana is just plain horrible. Oh yeah, IMO.........

I have been listening to The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed! Well they are okay if you are an addict or gay or a tranny!! Sleazy!! If you like the thought of David Bowie, Lou Reed and/or Iggy Pop fucking each other, and sharing a needle and spoon, and wishing they were girls, then maybe it speaks to you. Lou and Nico can't sing a lick and guitar playing is lacking and song writing is limited to a few good ones....so I say the VU is OVERRATED!! Unless you can identify with their culture.

The Rolling Stones is MOST overrated band of all time, at least in my region... they suck...my god...I've trying to see the good things of them during the years but yet I didn't find a damn thing in wich I could say...wow, thats hot...they are the best at it...

All Stones fans say that they have amazing guitar riffs ¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿? What could you say about Zepp? Purple? The Police? Skynyrd? ACDC?...

I could understand if you're not an Anthrax fan for metal. I love a bunch of their tunes (with Bush in the line up of course) but they don't blow anyone away talent wise. Now with Pantera, I'm a bit confused. I can see if you don't like Phil's screaming styled vocals but he is actually a pretty versatile vocalist as he can and does actually sing very well in a bunch of their tunes. Dime was AMAZING, Vinnie Paul is AMAZING, and Rex is pretty damn good at bass as well. Talent-wise they could pretty much run circles around any band of that genre at the time and now. Do you find their songs over-rated? Just curious.....
