And let's face it, we love a lot of bands and artists of all different kinds, but the only one that might deserve having a monument erected in their honor is "The Beatles." No other band has ever come close to contributing to the evolution of music and civilization as they did. so many of these other artists we love would have wound up working in factories and selling used cars if it weren't for them.
You can argue with me but you'll be wrong.

Pink Floyd is overrated IMO. I could never get into them. Most of their songs are either too long and boring or just too weird, especially in the Syd Barrett period.

I WILL NOW EXPLAIN THE APPEAL OF THE GREATFUL DEAD FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT: "Friend of the Devil," "Truckin'," "Ripple," they had a few nice little songs and that's it. The "APPEAL" of the Greatful Dead is to smoke lots of pot, maybe drop some acid with a bunch of other hippies and relive woodstock on alternate weekends or whenever they come into town. That and the skull logos were cool and no one else had done that kind of thing yet.
Now I'll piss some people off: you wanna talk about bands that just SUCK OUT LOUD, I elect Primus, The Violent Fems. Wait, wait, on the over rated thread, I elect Korn. Let the complaining begin.

The Byrds. If you took their entire released song output and cut in about half, I think they would be vastly elevated in my mind. They only had 3 GREAT Albums, Notorious, Sweethearts and Untitled.

You also have to understand that it was one of the very few bad shows they've done. Watch their other live ones..its like night and day. Every band usually has an off day live. I think they're a very creative band..one of the few that actually uses shredder solos in their songs on today's rock music. I disagree with this song as "just a bunch of solos played together". It's more than that.

First time I heard Dragon Force I was over at my in-laws and my "brothers" were watching the Guitar Hero clip on YouTube that someone was playing along with. At first I thought "Why are they listening to Helloween?", but then I realized it wasn't good enough to be Helloween.

You know how I knew they were going to suck? Their name is DRAGON Force.

Rule 1 of rock bands is if the name of the band references a mythical being or is otherwise meant to be "mystical" they are going to suck big time. It guarantees their songs will be attempts at some grandiose mini operas with a lyrics written by a 12 year old Dungeons and Dragons player and comprised of an endless series of soulless licks played quickly in the hopes that if they play the fast nobody will notice how much they suck. Adults will say things about them like, "They suck". Fourteen year olds will say, "They can play really fast and the lyrics to 'The Last Battle of the Golden Rainbow Fighters in the Moonlit Forrest of Eternal Despair' are so deep.

when I saw them at the Mayhem fest they actually had a fan onstage. They would go up to so that their hair would blow everywhere. They also had a keytarist who ran around the stage with no shirt on. People were throwing things at them. I HATE DRAGONFORCE.
