And a tutorial by Tommy on how to play it. I've been working on it, but cannot get real far. Someday.......

Re: Most unexpected cover song. Post your find.

How'bout the two guys from above, just having a go at a rock classic:

Tommy Emmanuel / J.Shimabukuro: While My Guitar Gently Weeps

YouTube - Tommy Emmanuel / J.Shimabukuro: While My Guitar Gently Weeps

I guess you can tell where my head's been at for about twenty years. I realyl just got back into the electric, even though I had electric guitars, I played acoustic for the most part since about '88.
Just sharing some great playing often overlooked in our electric circles.

Excellent cover. It takes balls to play it after the era of shred since it is easy and slow ( relatively ). It is great hearing the crowd get into it. I know a lot of strat heads in the eighties who shunned my like of Sabbath. Idiotic shredders, they just didn't get it. Sabbath is one of the founding pillars of modern rock. Gov't Mule has a great sound. Glad to see them paying homage

A noble attempt, but kind of a failure:

Phish 1996-12-31 Bohemian Rhapsody, Fleet Center, Boston

Heck, even Queen could not really pull it off live..............Some things left best to the studio I guess.

I think disturbed did pretty good with it. Way different sound but the song fit's their genre well.

Metallica cover of Stone Cold Crazy by Queen. A great song and it rocks hard...but Freddie covered by James....hmmmm.

The Wildhearts did a great version of the Cheers theme...

They also have a cd of cover songs out, they went with some more obscure bands/songs that some people may not have heard of.

Here's their version of Understanding Jane from The Icicle Works:
