Train...

... the band. (Though i do love trains!).

Any Train fans here? I only just started listening to them of recent after them releasing their latest album "California 37". Been listening to it pretty much non stop the past few weeks.

They are also playing an in-field gig at the Daytona Coke Zero 400 in a few weeks time, and we're thinking about buying some in-field tickets (on top of our regular tickets which we already have) to go and check them out... amongst some other goodies of course.

I dunno if it's the guitars, or the vocals, or the groovy drums... i just find them so easy to listen to, and really catchy.

My current favourites off of their new album are below... though i must say i like the whole album.

Anyone ever seen them live? What do you think of them?

Been playing this one on drums... a lot...

Love the lyrics on this one... "Crappy purple Scion"

Re: Train...

I've always been a fan of Train, but their recent output is better than their older stuff, IMO. "Drive By" took a while to grow on me, but it did. Those boys can craft a catchy hook, that's for sure.

Re: Train...

I've seen them once. That was enough. They played a couple of covers. That just tells me they need some more good material of their own.

Re: Train...

Middle of the road soft cock pop. These covers are about as cool the Pink cover, IMO.
Music for the sheeple.

Re: Train...

One of the few bands out there that care more about crafting some good tunes than pushing the envelope, showing off their chops, or breaking eadrums. I respect them for that, but some people are going to be more into that than others...

Can't say I'm a fan, but I don't dislike them either. I put them in the same category as I do Florence + The Machine, One Republic, Maroon 5, U2, and Coldplay; bands that play songs light and catchy enough to be considered "pop" music, but actually play instruments and write their own material, which is more than can be said for most popstars nowdays (though I'll admit those that don't have a lot of songwriting/musical talent make up for it with good performances).

I went to a large club one night that was having a free TRAIN show. I was pretty underwhelmed; until they broke into a LZ cover. They absolutely nailed it.

Even though these guys are a pop band, they proved they can rock.

Not a fan, but don't necessarily dislike them. They just do nothing for me.
