My current influence, and quickly becoming my biggest.
My lord................. That's all that shall be said. Rest in peace man.

A couple of recorded gems that are often overlooked, the Kossoff Kirke Tetsu Rabbit album, and a great album with some very early Kossoff on, Fiends and Angels, by Martha Velez, he plays on 3 tracks I think. But yes, I'm listening to Joe Satriani's Crystal Planet at the moment and its great stuff, and clearly JS is a phenomenal guitar player - but Paul Kossoff, I think, used the guitar to sing through - when he's playing he's singing from his soul, maybe that's why some people respond so strongly to his playing because, as humans, we are touched most deeply by a "voice". Keep it simple.

Re: Paul Kossoff
Koss is probably my favourite guitarist and certainly a massive influence on me. Its the Pathos within his playing that I find so incredible. Its simple stuff for the most part but your right, the depth of emotion there cant fail but touch peoples souls.

Re: Paul Kossoff
I'm a younger guy (teenager), and I started getting into blues and rock about three years ago through my dad, and have recently started collecting and listening to vinyl records. My uncle gave me a few of his favorites, but the first I bought for myself was Fire and Water, because I heard that Free was an all right band.
I was overwhelmed at the sheer greatness of the band. My third favorite band after Zeppelin and the Beatles, and my third biggest guitar influence after Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Koss truly makes the guitar sing. If only he had lived a bit longer.
