The Mojo album is my absolute favorite TP album as Mike lets loose with his 59 LP and it sounds amazing. If that album passed you by for some reason you are missing out!

Re: Mike Campbell... Guitar Hero!!!

Mike is extremely underrated. One of my top favorites. I'd even go as far to say he is or is one of the "George Harrison"''s of his time. Always plays to serve the song and what the song needs. Joe Walsh is also a lot like that. Very lyrical players.

I love the Damn The Torpedoes album and also Mary Jane's Last Dance. Mojo is fantastic too.

I love Mike Campbell's playing. He serves the song.

(By the way, anyone following the thread about modes, this is the Lydian mode in the verse -- unsettled).

Re: Mike Campbell... Guitar Hero!!!

I just found out here recently he played on and wrote the music for Don Henley's "The Boys Of Summer" solo track. I've always loved that one and even though there are keyboards and whatnot there is a fair bit of guitar to that song and I've always loved it.

Mojo and the "Mudcrutch" records are the two of the only things I've bought the "Deluxe" versions of on iTunes.

Favorite comment in this is Ron Blair saying: "We know."

If you're into dude go NOW to get the Bogdonovich "Runnin Down A Dream" doc.

Re: Mike Campbell... Guitar Hero!!!

Mike has always been a favorite of mine. I put him in my top 5 these days, especially after MOJO. That guitar sound and his feel and...just everything...wow! He deserves that 59 for all the great work he has done over the years.

Re: Mike Campbell... Guitar Hero!!!

Hell yeah.

... and if you ever want to see a sweatin' dance floor, drop this one near the end of your second set, after everyone's lubed up and started makin' their moves. Some filthy grinding.
