Audley Freed and his R4

R4 - Pedalboard - Matchless Lightning w/ Reeves R1x12W cab. Killer player! Jackie's 335 sounds great too.

That wasn't when he was in The Point was it, in the 80's? I remember he used to play single bucker, Chandler strats back then. I think he might have put them together himself? Memories! He was always enjoyable to go see!

Cry Of Love. The Point's Guitarist was Robbie something.

Kelly Holland was my Home Boy back then.

Yeah, I'm off a few years. This was before COL/Stompin Ground, Sidewinder, back in the mid 80's. Around 86' 87' IIRC. I've seen him in the Point, quite a few times back then.

Sidewinder played in my High School gym. South Brunswick HS.

I was up front saying... I can do that!

Yeah, I saw them in the early 80's at Eastern Wayne! Long before Audley joined!

Re: Audley Freed and his R4

Audley is fantastic. One of my "newer" favs as far as guitarists go.

He's in a new band with Peter Stroud (who is my by far my favorite "modern" guitarist if you will in the sense of guys playing today that are recent and session guys) and some other guys that are recording a Southern Rock style album together in a band called "Big Hat". There is a Facebook page about it. I can't wait to hear it. Both Peter and Audley are fantastic. Peter is one of my modern heroes. A great player and a super nice guy to talk to and very humble. I've talked to him a couple of times online (mainly through Twitter/Facebook) and he's always kind.

I loved that "Ohio" clip.

Man, that scratchy stuttering opening lick to Ohio is so recognizable and deserves a place in the memorable guitar lick hall of fame.

It certainly does. I'm not the biggest Neil Young fan (I like him alright although I love CSN), but I do love that song (and Cinnamon Girl). The intro is a classic. That and Cinnamon Girl are two classic intros. Love them both. I wish I had his Fender Tweed Deluxe.
