why wasnt he charged, sent for trial and jailed? - When it comes to stuff like this people dont get off lightly, even in the UK...

I stand corrected - its not what he said in his biography though, which I read recently - actually been trying to read since christmas but its mahoosive...
I think as usual we only get the sensationalized press stories - I dont think we'll ever hear the truth, but I would say prio to this happening he was running the campaign on his website - this is also one area of the law where the UK police dont mess around - if there had been any way of charging him they would... My thoughts are the same as yours though - dont do it if you dont want to pay for it..

Rock star autobiographies are always great for a laugh. I havn't read Pete's, but my ol'Dad bought me Keef Richards book for Christmas and I can tell ya it's a real weeze

i have no use for townshend since the child porn thing. really pisses me off since i used to really respect and idolize him. i can't get past it even after all these years. i haven't been able to listen to him or the who for years more than a minute or two and then i have to turn it off. i do miss those days when i could crank up some quadrophenia and enjoy it.
