Saw Ace Frehley last night!

At the House of Blues N. Myrtle Beach, SC.

WOW! What a great show! Going on reviews that I've read for this tour, and what I saw last night, Ace really is sober, healthy, and on top of his shit. His playing is at a level I haven't seen since early Frehley's Comet...

His new band is really tight, and they look really happy to be there with him. Interaction between Ace, his band, and the audience was something I've never seen from him.

He was having some technical difficulties, which he mentioned, and is probably why there was no smoking guitar during his solo. It was nice to see him just play his ass off with no effects.

Setlist was...

Rip It Out
Hard Times
Parasite
Snow Blind-I Want You
Rock Soldiers
Shout it out Loud
Breakout (dedicated to Eric Carr)
Into The Void
Strange Ways

--Medley-- (Torpedo Girl, Stanger in a Strange Land, Five Card Stud, something else I can't remember..)

N.Y. Groove (had trouble getting sound from the chasing lights guitar. A couple of min. with his tech fixed it.)

2000 Man
Shock Me (No smoking guitar afterwards, but a blistering solo!)
Rocket Ride

Encore
Deuce
Love Her All I Can
Love Gun
Cold Gin w/ Black Diamond outro

If you guys get a chance to go see him, don't miss it! Be sure to wear earplugs, because that mofo is LOUD...

Man, I'm glad he's out there playing hard, and staying sober! That guy has some of the coolest rock chops ever. He's great. Can't wait until he comes around my way again!

Then why not get Ace's autograph?!? I don't know anyone in their right mind that would even want Gene's autograph... Especially guitar players. Ace hasn't had anything to do with KISS since '02. I seriously doubt Ace is gonna travel to LA, and get Gene's sig. for his nephew's friend...

I'm not even sure Ace HAS a nephew. I think your friend is pulling your chain....

Re: Saw Ace Frehley last night!

Well he told me that Gene was coming back from his tour from Japan and said he could get me one. I don't really like Ace but I'll ask for an autograph from Ace also from him.

Heres the pic of Gene's autograph. Sorry its backwards, thats how my MacBook's camera takes the pics.

Looks cheesy though. Then I compared it to an online pic of Gene's autograph and then saw a huge difference. I asked him whats up with that and he's like, "Thats his initials, not his autograph" after I asked him to get me an autograph.

He's feeding you a line of bull... That's not Gene's autograph, or his initials. Not even his handwriting...

Re: Saw Ace Frehley last night!

I still don't see any resemblance... Ace has an older brother, and sister. Ace is 57. Either of his siblings were having kids a little late in life to have a school-age son. It would be more likely that he's some kid's Great Uncle..

Why would Ace go out of his way to get Gene's autograph, when the two have NEVER gotten along?!? Why would he sign a piece of graph paper?!?

Ace doesn't even let his own cousin backstage, so i don't see a nephew, or great nephew getting any special treatment. He isn't known for being one of the nicest guys around, but it would still be easier to get Ace's sig., rather than Gene's.

I call shenanigans!

Same here. I knew he was a bull shitting me. Everyone at school thinks that Ace is his uncle. Wait till I tell everyone at my school the information you guys told me (special thanks to Boleskinehouse) then I will burst his little bubble.

Yep, that is NOT Gene's autograph.
Glad to hear Ace is finally getting it back together and doing well... hopes he comes down my way soon. Thanks for posting the review and pics!

Yeah, it was nice to see him back on top of his game. I've seen him play really bad... Especially during the Farewell tour.

You need a / before the word quote in the closing bracket

Cool, Ace can play when he isn't all f*cked up. There were a few good shows during the last Kiss tour he did, I have a couple on DVD and they were really smoking.

He needs to put out a new album.

Dude, that is sooo awesome! I didn't even know you were out of town. When you get back in town get ahold of me, I've written a new song & it has been way too long since the last time we jammed.

Man I love that Les Paul he's playin' I never liked the three pickup Les Pauls until I got one.

I gotta say Ace is amazing, and he played what the songs required with kiss.
And I think that really held him back.
