Bonamassa...He's Digging the EJ Style...

YouTube - Joe Bonamassa ~ Just Got Paid ZZ Top Cover

Check out this cover of Just Got Paid -- he sure is using the EJ style a lot in here...

Sounds awesome...I need to learn that run.

Re: Bonamassa...He's Digging the EJ Style...

Agree with all of you guys.

I was at GC today trying out some compressors, settled on the EH Soul Preacher--funny, bought it for my church gig.

I was playing Just Got Paid, and at least 4 guys came over and asked me how to play it. Of course I gladly showed them.

Love that tune, and Joe's playing is getting better every year...he's a total monster.

Re: Bonamassa...He's Digging the EJ Style...

Everyone I see covering that song plays it different then Billy Gibbons. On the zz version live on you tube. Billy Plays it in drop D and he doesnt have to slide down to the G note in the main riff. It's a lot easier to play this way. But every time i see people cover it they play it in standard.
curious.

Yup...open E. Gov't Mule covers it in Standard tuning as well.

So do I.
