Top notch quality - looks professional. Get one before he starts charging an arm and a leg. If you installed one with the metal side bracket (without a screw into the guitar of course) and used one of the included rubber feet as the stop where the bracket is supposed to screw into the side of the guitar, I don't know how anyone but an expert up close would ever notice it wasn't a stock pickguard. I actually think they look better than factory. Why would you want to make screw holes into the body if you didn't have to.

My only disappointment is, the 'ivory' color is exactly that, and it doesn't look good with aged cream pickup rings. But I will say the factory pickguard isn't an exact match either. Any ideas on how to darken up the plastic? I'm going to hit him up to find a better matching plastic.

Great product - picts to come.

Smile Re: "Screwless" pickguards

Hey all.........
Yea the Ivory has always been a nuisance. I have 3 sets of Gibson Pure pickup rings still in the package and all three are a different tint of ivory/cream. One has the pinkish tint that ArchEtech speaks of. The solid Ivory acrylic matches some but not others while my backpainted ones match some as well. I've begun the hunt for paint that matches the pinkish tint better. Backpainting the clear will be the only way to come close to that. I'm working on it.
And here's a pic of what the pickguards look like when the first come off the CNC router.........Before beveling the edges, polishing, forming and if needed, painted (these are the clear ones. There is a white poly masking on them)

Sorry I took so long responding. Had trouble with my FTP server. Anyway, here are a couple pics of my Class (that disparately wants a screwless pickguard). Sorry the pics aren't a little better. Shot them with a low end camera.

Re: "Screwless" pickguards

Hi folks,

Ordered one of these from Bobby a week or so ago and it arrived today, amazingly, despite our recent postal strikes! Spectacularly well packaged too.

Here she is, freshly fitted to my 07 Standard:

(sorry if the pics are a bit big)

Also a comparison pic before and after here:
http://pcwww.liv.ac.uk/~cdtaylor/glp/pickcomp.jpg

The colour's obviously significantly lighter than the binding, but it's an almost perfect match to the pickup surrounds.

I'm really pleased with it, thanks Bobby.

(Hello from the UK too.)

Ta. It took me ages to find one this nice.

Re. the topwrapping...

I was advised to do it by a tech friend, it reduces the angle the strings reach the saddles at, in theory making it less likely for a string to snap there. (Though admittedly with the quality of these saddles it's not likely)

The main reason I did it though was to make it much easier for me to adjust the intonation. having less downward pressure by the strings on the saddles makes them easier to move.

(I think it looks cool too.)

Re: "Screwless" pickguards

Hiya BigC,
Your fiddle looks great! With or without the pickguard! I'm glad you like it. I've just sent another two to the UK just today. Thornbury, Bristol, if I remember correctly. In any event, Enjoy! And thanks for the kind words.
And thanks to you magnido45!

Left handed models now available
