Ummm, no.

Just the thought of my fat ass in a dress would scar minds and cause half the membership to have PTS issues for years to come...my insurance can't handle that...LOL.

I've been playing the R7 with the '57 Protos in in it a bit more recently, and found that when I played my R9 this week I really missed the tone; kind of like finding an old pair of sneakers in the closet--you put them on, and it's "Ahhhh..."

Both of the pickups are incredible in their own right; the neck just growls and screams, while the neck pickup is a crooner; crisp highs, not too woofy, with a very vocal-like quality.

It really shines in the middle OOP position though. Personally I like it best with some amp drive on it; that's just my playing style. The guitar takes on a whole new personality--it's hard to describe, but everyone that plays it says the same thing. Their eyes light up, they turn to look at me, look back at the guitar, then start riffing. Honestly--every person that's played it has done this.

The tone cuts through like a knife. Lovely nasally honk, a bit less low end, and crisp highs. You really have to hear it to believe it.

I know some other guys have said they have "THE" PG pickups, but honestly--these pickups are the dog's bollocks. Best pickups I have ever bought, even when compared to Will's other 6707 pickups.

Re: BCR Music (BCRGreg) & WB Pickups introduces a VERY Limited "67 Green" Pickups

I called WB the other day, and they were playing Mississippi Queen in the background, so I got inspired to record a clip.

I finally got it to load on youtube... Excuse the clams, but it sounds pretty good in my headphones.

There's been a lot of talk about "true" Peter Green tone, and I can say that these have it.

I'll buy them back if you don't agree.

Period.
I just saw this. Well I went on your word that you tried 'em in the killa and liked the Greggies betta in that guitar. No probs here cuz I ain't got no problem with my Gregwinds meng. They are the deal!

OK, the wig will have to come out...

The camera is an inexpensive Kodak ZD710...nothing special. I tried something different--I put the camera on the amp head. I think this may have resulted in more low frequencies getting captured...?

Thanks for the compliment...I love that tune.

Hey BB, I was thinking that was cool how you did the clip with the middle out of phase setting. Any way you could take that Mississippi Queen Riff and just kinda "noodle around" with it and play short takes of it using all three pickup settings? I would like to hear how the contrast of the bridge and neck settings sound with your R9 and that Landry, just a thought?

Re: BCR Music (BCRGreg) & WB Pickups introduces a VERY Limited "67 Green" Pickups

I did record a short clip, but unfortunately don't have a converter to change the .mov file to an mpeg format.

So...in the meantime I recorded a couple of short clips doing some peter Green style stuff. The Black Magic Woman stuff comes off a bit trebly--sounds a lot more full in the room. I think it got bright because the camera was on my desk.

Settings: Bridge Volume 7.5, Tone on 2...Neck Volume 8.6, Tone on 10.

My R9 has RS Guitarworks Superpots for volume; Bridge has a Luxe BB .022/Neck has One of Jonesy's (K42?) caps (the green one) measured at .018.

I'll try and get a couple of vids up today with the individual pickup sounds with those settings.
