Lee and I are headed out to the Nashville Guitar Show early this Friday- this is Mike Tepee's show at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Friday will be dealer day and then the show will open to the public all day Saturday. It's always a lot of fun. We get to see our regular Tennessee crowd and sometimes a few celebrities- last show Billy Gibbons walked through and we sometimes see Pat Buchannan, Gary Tallent, and Pat Lassiter. Gary and Pat L. are bass players, so they're for me but I'm sure it would be a real treat if the Rev. Willie G. sidled up to just about anybody!

Had a ball up in Nashville this past weekend- got four Les Pauls, a couple of Murphy's and a couple of Brazils. Photos coming this week and they're all incredible!

Glad everything's there and you're pleased- many thanks for the kudos. We need to do an 'Elk drive- by on our way to one of the Dallas shows and have a chat and check out all your gear. Speaking of shows, Lee and I are loading up this coming Thursday and heading out to the Columbia, SC show next weekend. It's always hotter than a human can stand, but a great smaller show to say the least. So, if any of you forum guys are in the area, please stop by and say hello or just throw a tomato at us- we'll be more than happy to toss one right back at 'cha!

It's off to the Colombia, SC guitar show today. This is a two- day show at the Jamil Shriner's hall, 6/27 and 6/28. It's a smaller show, but some cool gear always seems to make it through the door. We're gearing up for one of the biggest shows of the year, the Summer Philly Guitar Show at King of Prussia, PA. Lee and I just returned from the Summer Philly show and it was yet another triumphant weekend for the 'Elk! Got a couple of Les Pauls and a '95 J-200 Presentation that's a #1 stunner. Man, we just love going to these shows-they're always a blast in some way or another.

We were given the distinct honor of having the guitarist/ keyboardist for the Zac Brown band, Mr. Clay Cook down to the 'Elkcave today. He dropped off a really cool and rare Martin 112 guitar amp and while he was at it, did a little pickin' with our esteemed luthier, Mr. Donald Dunlavey. There aren't any cooler cats to be found and it was a pleasure to just sit back and hear two giants of their craft go back and forth. Better than ice cream, I say!

We're heading up to the Charlotte Guitar show next weekend and want to extend an invitation to anyone on the forum that will also be attending to stop by the 'Elk booth and say "Hello". We just missed a couple of MLP forum members at the Philly show, so please do come on over and give us a yell. We just got back from the Charlotte guitar show and to describe this past weekend in a word, it was just devastating! We got a van full of Les Pauls, hung out with Brad Whitford of Aerosmith and basically left 'Elk hoofprints all over the Metrolina Expo Center. I'll get the show report up ASAP and post the link!

Believe it or not Ham, we bought 14 Les Pauls and not one of them was a flametop. However, we are going back to North Carolina next week to get into a sizeable collection of Gibsons and it's my hope that we'll pull some R7's, R8's and R9's out of there. There were no Lemonheads at the show and only one goober dealer had an R9 that was dinged- up. He, of course wanted 4k for it and I had to speak Vulcan to him..... Interestingly enough, the supposed "last Murphy", #199 walked into the show and we had a shot at it, but the guy was not letting it go for a penny less than $4500.00. Somebody in the room paid that price, but it's been all over Ebay and was 10 lbs+. For that reason alone, we laid off the deal.
