ideal for me would be one that is a direct fit onto the posts already on the guitar. with the same kinda saddle thing going on in nice shiny nickel. maybe do something with the thumbwheels where they attatch to the bridge.

Re: The ULTIMATE LP bridge

I'd love an ABR if I can still use my existing thumb wheels - the Elitists use the same size/spaced bridge as the Gibson, but has a different thread pattern, I believe... I know that I can use a TonePros, but would rather have one of yours!

Re: The ULTIMATE LP bridge

Hi all.

It is a bit slow going on the ABR-1 Version.

I have got my machinist so swamped with other tool projects, in addition to doing some refinements on my carving machine (featured in the purists run for cover thread)

The ABR 1 is still coming, just a bit slower than planned.
sorry to make all the folks who are interested in the ABR-1 wait, but hey, I haven't taken one penny in deposits, either.

I did get a couple more Nashville style bridges made up if any one is wanting one.

Anyway , that is the latest.
cheers,
Roman

Loki, that is a great idea but.................... I might sell one a year.

So many people want one-off custom stuff, which I CAN do, but are people willing to pay for it???????

The answer to that question is NO.

So here is what it boils down to;

The introductory pricing of 75.00 to MLP members is OVER. That batch of bridges is gone, finished.

I lost Gobs of money on everyone I sold. CNC costs are not cheap. Ironically not a single bridge was sold to an MLP member. ( So, no one has to feel guilty that I lost money 'cause of them )

I have a new batch made up.

Titanium runs 75 dollars a lb. It is difficult to machine. No one wants to pay 2 hundred some bucks for a bridge.

No Titanium will be offered unless someone wants to fork over dough.

No plating, if someone wants it plated they will have to find their own plater.

What is available is this;

Brushed Stainless 150.00
Polished Stainless 175.00

Brushed aluminum / with stainless saddles 150.00
Polished Aluminum / with stainless saddles 175.00

These prices are in USD Plus shipping. MLP members will get a 10% discount .

The ABR 1 version is still underway, but I have my guy swamped with other projects for my shop.

Roman

Re: The ULTIMATE LP bridge

I think they are beautiful looking, and beautifully made. I tried to buy one at one point but there were none left. I do not think $175 for a tun-o-matic bridge is reasonable. I'm not sure how if no mylespaul memebers bought them at $75 (retail $100) you're thinking they will buy them for $175 (retail $225?) but good luck - they do look nice!

(The tailpiece is perfect! And I'm not being sarcastic! But... what do those cost $400? - that is sarcastic.)

Ah, you compliment and criticize all in a few sentences. How nice.

You had your chance. I offered you one at the original price. You declined.

When Tone Pros first came out they were in the same price range as my current pricing.

The pigtail stuff is 200 bucks a bridge.

Both these items are cast and Tone Pros is mass produced.

My bridge is billet machined.
You don't have to buy one. That last I looked the name of this thread wasn't "lets criticize the price of Romans bridge"

All the bridges in the first batch sold, just not to MLP members. Believe it or not, I have real flesh and blood customers that come into the shop.

I posted the price change info so I would not have people expecting them at the intro price.

Thanks for the compliment (I think)

Actually the cost of the tail piece is minimally 3,500 ( they only come on my guitars)

Wanna criticize the price of that too?
