This is a understandable mistake. The pucker doesn't often show in photographs because it's subtle, but it's certainly there if you do a careful in-hand inspection.

I know my input doesn't always seem welcome on this forum, so I'd encourage anyone to ask Uncle Lou, Vic Depra, or any other burst expert who's actually owned original bursts or original rings. They will ALL tell you the same thing:

The pucker DOES appear on vintage original M69 rings.

The (correct) plastic contracted in the mold as it set, creating a little pucker. This shrinkage varied, but it's there to some degree in all vintage M69 rings. Sure, it can be completely sanded out of ANY set of rings, purchased from ANY manufacturer, if you don't mind the sides being slightly thinner than vintage-originals.

I sincerely appreciate how hard it is to gain hands-on experience with M69s, given originals now run $10K+ per set. But that's no excuse for misinformation being spread as fact.

Hopefully my 30-years of buying, selling and owning real M69 rings counts for something, and will help dispel some of the misinformation about ORIGINAL M69 rings. A little pucker goes a long way to being vintage correct. If that's important to you.

I look forward to the pictures you will provide proving your point. As you are more an expert than I, I'm sure you have lots of examples.

Thanks!

Re: Now Available " Over the Pond " M69 English Rings !!!

This latest batch of OTP rings has a nice variety of different levels of aging for people to choose from !!! I now offer the rings in 4 levels of aging ... Mint , Light , Medium or Heavy !!! Or as me and my Brit buddy jokingly refer to them ... Raw , Rare , Medium rare & Well done !!!

This is a set of Medium aged OTP's ...

You need to be a bit careful about your choice of words Bobbo or you're going to get some unwanted attention. Mentioning the word 'pucker' and 'ring' in the same sentence......nuff said.

I am not saying that they SHOULD have dimples, not am I saying they ALL have dimples. Some have dimples. It is very possible that if enough sets pass through your hands, some of your will too.

I could easily switch them out for you,if you like, and also put some single rings on it.

But you probably wouldn't what that scrawny necked, dinged, checked and over modified mutt anyways...
