1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top W/ OHSC @ Thunder Road Guitars
Boy there is just something about humbuckers on a Gold Top guitar. In the 70s Gibson didn’t make a whole lot of Les Paul Standards, let alone Les Paul Standards in Gold Top as they were primarily focused on the Les Paul Deluxe and Custom at that time. Here we have a fairly clean and all original 1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard in the always stunning Gold Top. This guitar has factory full size T Top humbuckers and sounds absolutely fantastic. Pickups are dated Sept 19 1979 and Dec 27 1979. Pots date 1377928 & 1377927. Considering this guitar is a Norlin era instrument and many Les Pauls weighed a ton back then it’s safe to say this one has a very comfortable weight. Very well balanced with a comfortable 60s style neck. Overall very clean and comes with the original chainsaw style hardshell case.
