2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus W/ OHSC @ Thunder Road Guitars
This has to be one of the best tops I’ve seen on a modern non-Historic Les Paul, hands down. The flames and mineral streaks look stunning, not to mention the top carve on this one is fantastic. Much character to this one! Here we have a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard AA Plus top. This guitar is overall in fantastic condition and plays exceptionally well. The neck has some beef to it and I would call it somewhere between a 50s and 60s style. Very comfortable in your hands and just sings through just about any amp set up you throw it’s way. Factory Grovers. Non chambered with a very reasonable weight of 9 pounds 2 ounces. All in all a great early 2000s Les Paul Standard Plus. Comes with the original pick guard (which has not been drilled) and the original hardshell case.

Re: 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus W/ OHSC @ Thunder Road Guitars
I just got myself a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard in desert Burst with Flamed AA maple top, Mine has the Burstbucker Pro pickups, which are alnico5 V magnets, I really like the pickups as they are higher output, which some people don't like of course, but I think they have more bite, you can get some nice highs out of them, great for AC/DC stuff, and the bridge pickup has some nice thump about it, the middle position is great for rockabilly stuff.
What pickups does yours have ?, has the 2001 got the Burstbucker 1,2, or 3s, or are they the same as mine, Mine also has a 60s Neck, which is really really fast, I know some like the 50s ones as well, but they are a tad to thick for my liking, and I do like thicker necks in general, as I have a fender SRV signature strat, and that is the best neck I have played on any guitar period, perfect springs to mind, I hear the Eric Johnson necks are great too |
