I have never owned an explorer or a flying V, hmmm maybe someday...

BTW how is your explorer project coming along H?

This 2nd SG is up for sale, it has broken body and cracked head stock and needs lot's of work. I have offered it up to Sinmastah because he asked about it first. If he does not want it I am going to post it up in the embers classifieds. email me at jonesyblues@yahoo.com if you are interested?

the thing is the "5878" Explorer will be sweet when finished but it won't be ready for a while. It'sgoing to be built by my good friend Enrique ( also occasional forumite here ). He's a brilliant luthier and he's going to use the best materials he's got ( old groth mahogany and BZ rosewood ) and I'm to provide the rest of the parts; pickups from the tonemeister Will Boggs / TOM by Roman Rist / Locking aluminium tailpiece by Faber / Pots and Nylon nut by RS / Bee cap by Jonesy / ....

The only problem is that Enrique is very busy. He's always busy doing repair works and building a guitar from scratch will take some time but.... I'm not in a rush ( or so I tell myself )

about three months ago i got the BIGGEST GAS for them both, and through the wonders of Ebay picked up the epiphone '58 korina versions for about £400 total. love them, apart from the already discussed treble bleed

This Damaged SG & Accessories are SOLD,

MLPF member Grease Box is going to take it.(Thanks Casey!) He lives here in Indiana and has some great woodworking skills if you have ever seen his build threads/posts you know what I mean. I think he has the talent to fix it up and I feel comfortable selling it to him because he knows what he is getting into repairs wise

Allparts .022 Vitamin Q's

I have a new Pair of the .022 Japanese made vitamin Q PIO caps from Allparts (Red leads)that I just installed in my 04' faded Cherry SG with 490R/490T. After checking it out for while with the stock caps,(Yellow leads) I decided to upgrade to a nice pair of PIO.





When I roll the Tone control off now I get some nice color with solid mids vs the muddy blanket effect of the stock caps. These .022 Q's sound a lot like the original Sprague Q's, warm, smooth and vocal. They are built with a metal case and one end is glass sealed (Blue) and are a nice sized Tone cap IMO.

I am going to Demo these .022 Q's for about a week and then I will be pulling them out and installing another pair of Tone caps to try out in my SG.

WANTED BEDROOM SIZE TUBE AMP, COMBO OR HEAD

Right now I am looking for a smaller Tube Amp Head or Combo amp with 10" OR 12" speaker. Nothing vintage or really expensive please, more like one of the epi or black heart amps but I am open to any reasonable offers.
I would even consider a Marshall Valvestate head or combo, 50 Watts preferred to the 100 Watt version though, or some of the smaller Peavey tube combo amps as well.

I can offer wiring, caps, new guitar parts, Gibson, Dimarzio, Fender, Sheptone pu's or some cash, whatever works for you???
