What guitar is this in and what kind of pots are you using? You will sometimes get a volume loss as you roll off Tone.

Normally just as you roll off Tone control from 10-8 you will start to notice a slight difference in Tone.

As you roll off from 8-6 you should find the sweet spot, from 5-0 it will darken up and you will get the woman tone.

The same cap will often react differently from guitar to guitar, I suggest you try a couple of different caps and compare results and see if you get that Tone drop from all caps or just the .047?

This is a fender Tele....Might I say its a lefty. so let me put this another way.

When rolling off the tone....It all the same, tell I get to the 3-0 spot.At that point it starts to darken heavy.Im not able to dial in any sweet spots at all.

Hmmm, What type of pu, is it a humbucker or single coil in neck? Sounds like a control problem (pots)more than a cap problem.

Does it have CTS pots, Fender MIM, MIA or is it a Squire or import with the metric pots??

Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

Gibson 06' Studio AAA Flame top For Sale/Trade

2006 AAA top Gibson Studio Les Paul & Hardshell case

I really don't want to get rid of this Les Paul but I could use the extra cash to put back into my business. Not sure what kind of price to put on this guitar since it has had the headstock repaired, but all reasonable offers will be considered. I have gotten many compliments on the neck repairs and many people have mentioned you can hardly tell it was broken.

This 06' studio has the AAA Maple top and killer Tone. The 490/498's are slightly modded as I swapped out the A2's for some roughcast A 5's and is was like installing a new set of pickups. Fatter, punchier and more responsive especially for Rock and Blues.

I did a level crown and polish a while back and got the action down really low. It has a fresh set of ernie ball reg. slinkys on it now .010-.046 and sounds and plays great. Also has PIO caps installed with modern wiring.

The pu covers were removed because they sounded so much better without them. I no longer have the Gold covers so they are not included. But a brand new Gibson USA case is included.

This guitar has been played a lot before I got it and it has lot's of natural wear on hardware, and some small dents and dings but nothing major. This is a players guitar and is ready to Rock.

I would consider taking one of the faded Gibson USA made SG's and some cash in trade for this Les Paul, but I am really not interested in any epi's or squires for trades.

You can email at jonesyblues@yahoo.com for more details...

Thanks, jonesy

Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

goodness me, those vitamin q's are good!

i did a vid for the new mojobox yesterday using my new chinese made tokai, and it guitar was really quite dull - the box did what it could, and it sounds great, but i think the guitar isn't sparkly enough.

i just put those caps you sent me in, and the difference is literally unbelievable. it's like a different guitar. so i'm trying to put the demo i did yesterday on youtube as we speak, and i'll do another demo with the guitar in a better state tomorrow or saturday, when my new strings arrive.

good work all round as usual, mate!

Sounds great bro, glad you like the MOJO and I really appreciate you taking time out to do the utube video, I know you have not been feeling all that great.

Would this be an appropriate area to ask Jonesy for advice as far as wiring?

Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

I just got some Roughcast Alnico IV's in the mail today, $12 a pair for the A IV Bar style Magnets for humbuckers 2 1/2" long includes S&H to US, add $3 S&H World wide.

Or $14.99 for the pair of Magnets and a pair of what ever color Bobbins Zebra/Rev Zebra/Creme/Black (limited supply) you want shipping included to US add $4 for World Wide shipping.

email/paypal to jonesyblues@yahoo.com I only have 3 pairs of these A IV's so first come first serve. These magnets look just like the last batch, see pics below :naughty

Here is the latest batch of Bobbins, Creme are made for screw side and these black bobbins are made for the slug. I have a few of the Black and creme that are the opposite so just let me know I will try and hook you up with whatever color combo you want.
