Don't count on it bro!...most peoples hair turns grey...Mine turned loose!!!

Mine has slowly been getting gray for years now, since I cut it short you can really see it. I have had my hair fairly long a lot over the past 5 years, but once in a while I like to cut it short. I may not cut it again until next spring

see, i wasn't used to it. i was 17 when i cut my hair short, and had cobain style long staight hair (an important tool in the sexy war on hot grunge girls - it was 1996, after all)

of course, now i understand that god knew that i really wanted to be jack white instead of kurt so he gave me wavy hair i could dye black.

simple!

Sure Dawg just make sure you email those details along with Paypal to jonesyblues@yahoo.com, the long sleeves are $2.50 more per shirt. Normal mens sizes, I take a XXL like usual.

Question Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

Jonesyblues custom shop/Tonemojo Summer 2009 News Letter

Just wanted to bring you guys up to date on some of the things that are going on at the jonesyblues custom shop. I have some old things I will be changing. And I have some new things I will be adding here over the next month or two.

I will be cutting way back on orders for "Pre-wired" harness's and these will be offered in limited numbers for the rest of this year. I need the time to focus on some New things, and frankly I am getting a little burned out wiring these up and I need a change of pace to keep things fresh. The only production rigs available are the Brent Mason Blender rig for 3 pu Nashville Telecaster and the 21 Tone Jimmy Page wiring with 4 push pull pots (jimmypagewiring.com) also the Vintage 50's Les Paul wiring looms.

Some of the new things coming out are the Tone boxes which many of you may have seen posts or utbue clips over at MLPF? I have built 3 prototypes so far for testing and will offer models #001 with 100K CRL pot, #002 500K CTS Pot and #003 with 5 way rotary selector and 500K pot. These really sweeten up your Tone, the 100K version really adds some compression and takes the harsh bite out of those single coil Tele pu's. All Tone Boxes have Selectable PIO Capacitors and True Hard Wire Bypass. These will be built in limited numbers, shellac'd wood box with vintage looking labels, dated and signed by me.

Tonemojo T-shirts are in the works and the first batch should be printed up and shipped out in the next 2-3 weeks. They will have the new jonesyblues custom shup skull logo on the back (designed by RMC1)and are offered in black or several other solid colors.

Tonemojo explorer kits will be offered soon for those of you who like to tinker and do your own mods. The kits will start out at about $20 and will contain several different kinds of capacitors, volume bleed kits, wire, alligator clips, solder, shrink tube etc. all the goodies you need to play around and learn how to customize your Tone.

Informational CD's with tips on how to build a great wiring harness for just about any guitar will also be offered soon. These Discs will have pics and info on how to select the proper pots and caps for different harness's, soldering tips and a few of my bench secrets.

Complete Tonemojo Wiring Kits will soon be available due to the high demand/request for guitar parts and wiring kits for those who are wanting to build their own harness's. I will soon be offering CTS Pots, Switchcraft switches and Jacks, braided wire individually and in kits for Les Paul, SG, Strat, Telecaster and many other guitars.

I have a few other things in the works that I will tell you about later on, but right now I am excited about all the new things going on. I appreciate all your support and am looking forward to providing you guys with even more Mojo this coming year. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Thanks & Peace, jonesy

Question Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

FYI NEW Payment Options for those of you who do not use paypal and would rather use a credit card to pay for your purchases, I am setting up Paypal buttons on my Tonemojo.com website for certain amounts. Those Paypal buttons will let you use Visa, Master card etc. to pay vs Paypal email transaction. I do not have a credit card machine so this hopefully will make it easier for some of you.

Thanks, jonesy

Question Re: Jonesyblues Custom Shop & ToneMojo.com

CAPACITOR EVALUATION: TONE FACTORY JAPANESE VITAMIN Q's

I just got in some New Vitamin Q Tone caps from Allparts. They are Oil and Paper TONE FACTORY Vitamin Q's made by TOICHI out of Japan. Evidently they hold they licensing for the Vitamin Q trademark now.

These TONE FACTORY Vitamin Qs caps (List $13.50 each) are not to be confused with the Cheaper Vitamin T caps (List $3.50 each) and are based off the original Sprague vitamin Q formula. I had heard that much of the US held companies had sold out to the Pacific rim and that seems to be true.

These caps I have are .022 uf and are rated at 630v, one end is glass sealed (Blue) and they are a nice short Fat Tone cap. On my bench meter they read 19.70 nf and 19.80 nf so they are around .020-ish uf or MFD. I am going to try these out in my Studio LP and see what they sound like. I will post a thread in the capacitor section as well
.

You could try a smaller value cap like .033 or .022 on that P-90 in the neck? Not sure what you did not like about the .047 or what is missing Tone wise.

I have found Amp settings are critical to bringing out the best/worst characteristics of Capacitors. If EQ's on treble, and mids are down on your amp it wil also cause dark or muddy response on neck pickup.

This is what I'm getting......when turning the tone,to find a sweet spot..I get a sudden drop off in tone.

Its Treble to about the 10 oclock, then it drops off to start getting darker.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to describe.
