Re: Why did the pepper wanna party with the mushroom?

It's a tie. Chicago style with Giardiniera and Garlic, or New York style with just garlic.

A close second is pesto with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and tomato.

I can't stand mushrooms

My favorite pizza is pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, ham and bacon. It's called an all meat combo

My favorite pizza is a steak chipotle they serve at a local place here called Moose's Tooth. Just thinking about it is making me hungry.

Re: Why did the pepper wanna party with the mushroom?

I like a good combo pizza with all the toppings but I love a good all meat pizza minus the bacon. I like bacon but on a pizza it seems to drown out the flavor of the other meats.

Scallops and bacon...on a white pizza with a lemony cream sauce! By far!

I love Hawaiian when its done with good
ingredients, but i hate it when they do it
wrong. Needs more sause than regular pizza
and the ham should be put on half way through
the cooking process, so it doesnt dry out, and use good slices of pinaple
instead of the cheap stuff most places use,
then its an awesome pizza

Re: Why did the pepper wanna party with the mushroom?

For years it was beef & onions, and sometimes green peppers as well.

I no longer eat pizza that often.
For a variety of reasons, but I still love the smell of it--so eat it around me, so I can enjoy the smell.

Re: Why did the pepper wanna party with the mushroom?

Okay, first off, I am a pizza snob and total traditionalist. You people who like pineapple, chicken, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, cock or whatever other weird stuff on your pizza have never had GOOD pizza in your lives - and that's especially true of that gooey, doughy Chicago style deep dish crap no matter what kind of topping you get on it. You guys probably love Subway sandwiches - Christ, if you're going brag about baking your own bread, at least bake GOOD bread that isn't like crappy Wonderbread. Any idiot can slice lunch meat but it's the bread that makes a sandwich.

The New Yorkers will disagree with me (they have good pizza even though I feel that most of it has too much cheese on it), but THE BEST pizza, or rather tomato pie, can be found in Trenton, NJ. Tomato pie has a nice, thin crispy crust, the cheese is put on top of that and the tomato sauce - a generous amount - on top of the cheese and then some olive oil is added. There are only a few toppings that belong on pizza: sausage, pepperoni, onions, peppers, mushrooms, anchovies, garlic. If you put anything else on your pizza or like something called "Hawaiian" or "margarita," just turn in your testicles at the door as you exit.

You have not lived until you've had a tomato pie with sausage from DeLorenzo's, ideally from the original location on Hudson St., but their new location in Robbinsville is nearly identical and has a public restroom (the original location has been around so long that they're grandfathered out of being required to have one). My only criticism of the new location is that, aside from tomato pie the only thing they make, they also serve salad - not a very manly thing to eat with pizza.

De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies - Est. 1947
It’s the Crust (De Lorenzo’s Tomato Pies) (review)

The place has been around long enough that if you ordered a pie for takeout, back in the day it came wrapped in newspaper, not a box.

Pwozzie will know what I'm talking about. If any of you are ever in the central Jersey area, you owe it to yourself to go to De Lorenzo's and have a fresh, steaming, right-out-of-the-oven tomato pie with sausage (optionally, feel free to get garlic on it too).

I wasn't trying to insult anyone in this post. Even though I'm making it sound like anyone who likes pizza that isn't what I like is less than a man, I'm trying to make a strong point but make it funny at the same time.

Trenton pizza RULES!

Subway is delicious, and, dominoes makes a good "tomato" pie. I also don't like my crispy crust, i love myself a good chicago style deepdish, also, i just saw a special on trenton gangs, and i dont think any pizza is the risk of getting shot in the face over.

What? Dominoe's is incredible, followed by Papa Johns.

Seriously, the best pizza is made at Angelo's Pizza in New York city. All one thousand of them.

Have you ever had Taco Bell, Arby's, Burger King, Chipotle?

Sure they dont compare to a real taco, roast beef, burger, or burrito, but its decent food, cheaper, and fast.

Definitely, and I especially love me a soft taco supreme from Taco Bell. For that matter, I had a big craving for a Whopper w/cheese this past Friday (I got out of work late, was beat and didn't feel like stopping so I opted for leftovers at home). I've had Arby's a couple of times in the past but it was so long ago I couldn't remember it well enough to give a proper opinion and I've never heard of Chipolte.

Believe me, I totally appreciate cheap food; last week I got myself a beef and bean burrito from 7-11 and it was chock full of awesomeness (gave me the craps something awful the next day but it was worth it... sort of).

With pizza, all of it is reasonably priced including the place I was raving about earlier and most places at least deliver and all have pickup service so I just can't understand why anyone would get pizza from Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa Johns or any other chain that makes really bad pizza when you can get great pizza for the same price of a little bit more. That Domino's and Pizza Hut stuff is bad.

I suppose part of it has to do with where people live and regional tastes; I live in NJ which is right in between NYC and Philadelphia where there are lots of Italians and, consequently, lots of good Italian restaurants. If an Italian restaurant doesn't make really good Italian food, they don't survive. On that note, there are some Domino's and the like in the greater area, but not very many of them.

The best pizza around here is at any one of three restaurants owned & run by Greeks.

Although the best pizza I ever had was homemade by an Italian friend's mom.

He used to bring it in his lunch--and even cold it was delicious.

It wasn't like the tomato pie you posted but it was real Italian pizza
