Poison's Rikki Rockett Arrested on Rape Warrant

The drummer for everyone's fave 80's hair band, Poison, was arrested Monday on a rape warrant out of Mississippi as he got off a flight from New Zealand at LAX.

46-year-old Rikki Rockett was busted by the Airport Division of the LAPD at the airport as he was going through customs. As the LA Daily News first reported, Rockett, a former hairdresser whose real name is Richard Ream, was transported to the L.A. County Jail, where he was booked on a felony fugitive sexual assault warrant out of Neshoba County, Mississippi. Where Rockett is exactly right now is unknown.

Information about the warrant and specific charges was not immediately available.

Rockett and singer Bret Michaels -- high school classmates -- founded Poison together. He was in New Zealand to reunite and perform with other original members of the band at Rock2Wellington, a huge heavy metal show.

99.8% of rape charges aren't followed up on by police. Must be different if its a celebrity, they want to watch the ensuing Entertainment Tonight shitstorm, and maybe see their faces on TV *they always call the reporters and let them know where and when they'll be arresting somebody famous so that it's well documented*.

Meh. I never liked Poison anyway. I hope the rapist gets ass raped in prison. Poetic justice.

Could be just made up crap. We've all seen it on Law and Order. Could be real or made up. People suck, cops suck, etc.

From the policeman my girlfriend file rape charges with last year, and from the fact that the guy is still walking the streets.

One incident doesn't equate that number. If a cop actually told you that personally, I'd say he was mistaken in doing so. While it is true that given the circumstances it can be a hard thing to prosecute (he said - she said, lack of evidence, etc), it's not for a lack of trying on the police part as you inferred. I'm confident I know what I'm talking about.


I don't know what happened with your girlfriend, but here's a statistic you won't like hearing. Of the many rapes I've handled, I would say more often than not, the rape allegation was fabricated by the wife/girlfriend/daughter to hide an affair or other sexual activity from the husband/boyfriend/parents, and admitted so in confidence when those people were not within earshot. The loved ones are then told, by the victim, that the police can't or won't do anything as a way of hiding what they did and explaining the fact the guy walked. Not saying that's the deal with your situation, but I've experienced this phenomenon often throughout my career.

My Ex was raped, but hid it from all. Not a good thing. I caught wind and took matters into my own hands. He got a couple of girls pregnant before finally joining the Army, but not before I took him down and took away the only thing he loved ( Clearly not women ).

Unfortunately this is the way most legitimate rapes end up - unreported.

They are tough to prosecute as I mentioned, the best chance for success is immediately after the incident without any hygiene or washing/changing clothes. After about 72 hours it's almost impossible as far as physical evidence is concerned (save for bruising or other injuries).

I got this from the officer in charge of the investigation. I know who the guy is and he immediately got a restraining order against me even though I've never been face to face with him until this happened. He also claims he's innocent, but you know how it goes.

I've gotten more info on this than I need to think about, and I know there are a lot of cases that go unreported, and unresolved. I've been trying to get on with my life since. Not an easy thing to talk about, or think about.
