You have to understand Stranger, I do not dislike you at all. I just like to debate. I do NOT feel superior. I just think that scripture is fitting and quite insightful. Is it cherry picking? Maybe. Is it funny? Yes. I do not dislike anyone, I just like to argue.

Re: Is Rush still kicking.

Some of the details of Rush's stay in the hospital are starting to leak out. TMZ said that Rush had an angiogram. I'm no doctor, but that has to be some sort of medical miracle since he has no heart.

No blood, no foul, pal. I'm just having a little fun here myself.

I wish the dude with my Marshall would call back so I could make this a New Amp Day.

Not really picking on ya, Homz. Just pointing out the fact that when you get "board" you find some pretty whacky thoughts to choose to express and follow up on.

Says more about you than those that you decide to pick on.

Entertaining though.

Just think how boring it would get if I wasn't here. You all would have to piss and moan about pic guards or which strap locks to use. I'm here for yaz. I also do requests, so if you want me to start an argument about just about anything just drop me a PM. I promise not to tell the others who request an argument about that particular subject.

Quote:
Charitable work
Leukemia and lymphoma telethon
Limbaugh holds an annual fundraising telethon called the "EIB Cure-a-Thon"[80] for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.[81] In 2006 the EIB Cure-a-Thon conducted its 16th annual telethon, raising $1.7 million;[82] totaling over $15 million since the first cure-a-thon.[83] According to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society annual reports, Limbaugh personally contributed between $100,000 and $499,999 from 2000–2005 and 2007,[84] and Limbaugh claims to have contributed around $250,000 in 2003, 2004 and 2005.[85] NewsMax reported Limbaugh donated $250,000 in 2006,[86] and the Society's 2006 annual report placed him in the $500,000 to $999,999 category.[84] Limbaugh donated $320,000 during the 2007 Cure-a-Thon[87] which the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society reported had raised $3.1 million.[88] On his radio program April 18, 2008, Limbaugh claimed to pledge $400,000 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society after being challenged by two listeners to increase his initial pledge of $300,000.[89]

Rush 24/7 Adopt-A-Soldier Program
Limbaugh's website maintains a page where US soldiers can register for a free subscription to Limbaugh's online premium service, Rush 24/7, through memberships purchased by donors who buy a subscription (at a reduced price) as a gift.[90]

Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation
Limbaugh conducts an annual drive to help the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation collect contributions to provide scholarships for children of Marines and law enforcement officers/agents who have died in the line of duty.[91][92] The foundation was the beneficiary of a record $2.1 million eBay auction in October 2007 after Limbaugh listed for sale a letter critical of him signed by 41 Democratic senators and pledged to match the selling price.[93]

I stand corrected, then.

But again - you seem to use charitable donations as some sort of mechanism to differentiate 'greater' humans from 'lesser' ones - or at least your definition of them. You crowed about your own charity work, and now put up a bunch of numbers with the idea that somehow it will make me feel 'small.' Didn't the bible say something about being humble about your charitable works, or does that not apply when you want to make someone feel 'small?'

Is that really what charity stands for to you? Seems a bit warped to me.

And if you really want to get cynical about it, that money sure adds up to a nice tax deduction for Rushbo, eh?

Speaking of warped, YOU asked the question remember, "Show me some. What charities does he give to? Does he have a charitable foundation?" You tried to show out of ignorance that he didn't and was proven wrong.

Right. You may have missed where I said 'I stand corrected.' That meant, well, that I stand corrected. Read slower, Hawk.

Do I have to explain everything to you?

I'm not gonna argue that LA, Oakland (and probably more liberal cities I have visited) aren't garbage, but I just have to say that Seattle (one of the most liberal cities in the US) is by far a much better place to live than the Phoenix MSA (apart from the weather). Hardly ever do you hear about robberies, murders, rapes, and gang violence in Seattle, yet it's on the news every day here in Phoenix. Of course the population difference is massive, but not all liberal cities are garbage.

No not a problem at all. Just don't dimiss your thoughts and ideals as a joke or 'smiley' and hide behind that. Own your words. As they say, be all you can be....

Who's hiding? If I didn't stand behind my words I would have disappeared from this thread. If you can't discern between a joke and a serious statement, that's really not my problem.

I will note that I asked a couple of rhetorical questions of a couple of people in this thread that were never answered. Wanna talk about not owning your words? Take it up with those who aren't intellectually honest enough to engage in the discussion on any other level than to toss insults at people of a different political persuasion.
