FLICKOFLASH…!!! ONE YEAR Anniversary MLP Report :

Well as of March 17th one minute to midnight I will have been a member here on MyLesPaul for one year. What can I say but THANK YOU !!! Alex for providing a base & the support & just plain being here. It has been a strange adventure let me tell you . I was a 5 year member at the OFP & was quite a active member there & enjoyed the place very much. Though through some situations I am still unclear on I was banned from there. Feeling dissolute by chance of a search on yahoo I had found MLP which had about 14 members & was in a plain blue & white format .Alex had started it sometime earlier to show his blue LP while waiting for his membership to be approved at the OFP. I joined & was welcomed by Alex & we struck up a friendship & set on a mission to create a better place. At first we were ridiculed as a place to spread hate for the OFP & many thought we would never succeed but we held are ground. Surprisingly many who I believed were close friends did not show the support that I thought was a given. Early on we found great support through new friends such as Will Boggs, KennyF, BCRGreg ,Rev JW Blues, PineF & latter on Bobbo, NMguitars ,RFR ( Roman Rist) & many more…

As you can see we have come a long way very fast. Yes we have hit a few bumps in the road & unfortunately had to deal with some ugly situations & had some hard decisions to face but all & all I believe things have turned out for the best. Alex has expanded the MLP to a sole servers with future expansions in mind. We have reached a point where we are a very marketable world wide forum media. Our distribution & reach far exceeds many popular magazines now. Great news if you are thinking of advertising on the MLP which we will be expanding on in the near future as we plan to advertise the MLP as well as it has been only word of mouth thus far. As we grow my goal is to add more & more sub forums to keep the forum in a neat & tidy format. WE have had really great Search Engine responses as when you search any guitar topic it leads you the MLP. We have also become involved with having raffles for children’s charities & have some really good ones planned in the future & thank you for your support & wish you continue to do so. We will continue to make ourselves available to members with questions & concerns & we can be reached by PM or Email & I also do phone calls as well. Please lets work together to make this stay a friendly kinder community .I know I have made some great friends this past year & hope to make some more in the upcoming year as well. Hopefully many of us can meet up at the Gibson summer Jam 2008 in Nashville this year.

I'm proud to be a member.
I looked into the other forums and never even tried to join. This place just "felt right".
This is the place I go many times each day, and you folks do a great job of keeping a reasonable relaxed atmosphere with a LOT of information available.

So far we have not all become "Use Search You Fool!" Nazis on the newbies either Though it can be tempting to shout it at times.......

Keep up the good work. I'll do more of the word of mouth thing to my friends as well.

It's been a very interesting year, indeed! First off, thanks, Flick, and everyone else for your continued support of MLP!! You know, never in my wildest dreams did I think MLP would grow this big, and the traffic just keeps growing month after month so we must be doing something right!

Initially, I registered the domain name MyLesPaul.com so that I can display photos of my Les Pauls and share 'em with my family and friends. At the same time I registered at this "other" forum and remember waiting for a while to get my account activated. So I went ahead and created my own little forum, and invited a few friends over. Next thing I know Flick came along and he made some good suggestions on how to improve MLP. Things started to take off from there.

This is an awesome forum, and I'm proud to be a member of it.

I too was a pretty active member at the OFP, and for some reason ceased to be able to post anymore. About 99% of my posts were upbeat--I always jumped in and helped inform the new folks, and asked/received a lot of good info there.

The St Jude charity drive is an incredible thing--thanks to all involved. You guys/gals rock! (MrsWB)

I only post on two forums; one is for amps, and this one for guitars. I've enjoyed my time on here, and hope to come here for many years to come. Congrats!

Checked in for lack of anything else to do one late night, not long after Flick got here, and WOW! All of a sudden we had ourselves a bonafide community! Knew we had something going, then!
