Could it get any worse? Wait... Don't answer that.

The worst is yet to come: Unemployed Americans should hunker down for more job losses

Quote:
Think the worst is over? Wrong. Conditions in the U.S. labor markets are awful and worsening. While the official unemployment rate is already 10.2% and another 200,000 jobs were lost in October, when you include discouraged workers and partially employed workers the figure is a whopping 17.5%.

Lies.

Jobs Saved or Created in Congressional Districts That Don't Exist - ABC News

Quote:
Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.

Discrepancies on government web site call into question stimulus spending. There's one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

And ABC News has found many more entries for projects like this in places that are incorrectly identified.

Wow someone screwed the pooch. I don't want to be politically incorrect, but this reminds me of the term "Indian givers"...

No. I think the goal is to inflame and polarize people to stoke class warfare and demonize capitalism. Why else would a quasi-socialist give huge bailouts to big business with no conservative support?? Why else would some banks and state govts. be forced to take TARP money?

There's a whole lot of people that voted for this guy that will never admit things ain't working out too well. They still believe change is coming. And it is.

So, rather than look at facts, we will just hear the standard "blame it on the last guy" routine.

Ask Bush that. He started the bailouts months before OB was in office or did you forget? Romney and other conservatives supported it.

OB has kept to the same game plan that the prior administration started in handling this problem. He has kept the same leadership in the FED RESERVE. There has been no change.

I had a very, very, reluctant support of the bailout. I understood the need for it given the entangled mess created by the derivatives issues, and crossed lines of buisness brought about by the massive derregulation of the industry. We let the Financial Industry build such a house of cards that systemic collapse was a given. All of the safeguards put in place by the generation who suffered through the Great Depression were removed.
We were at the brink of a $65 TRILLION dollar hole.

My reluctant support was given with the understanding and hope that we could rebuild the industry, and put in place sensible regulations making it safe from systemic failure again. To date this has not happened, nor does it seem to ever going to happen as long as we have the special interest lobbyists infiltrating our government.... no matter who is elected.

Then you and I are not that far apart. Only I don't see a bailout as a means to do it right the next time, given human nature. It just slowed the bleeding and put off the sacrifice to another day and most likely another generation.

The short term risk probably would have bankrupted the country, but would have definitely reformed the system... or caused enough ruckus to force that. Long term, we'd be better off.

I have no doubt that we would have backrupted the country if all was allowed to fail. Maybe economically we would have been better off in the long run, but not national security wise.

I was against ALL bailouts. The filth that is Goldman Sachs DIRECTLY benefited from Lehman Bros bankruptcy (no bailout?) and AIG's bailout (no bankruptcy?). BS.

I know a guy who legally borrowed money from his 401K and the law was RETROACTIVELY changed that caused him a sizable penalty.

Yep I think some here are right, Obama's mission is to sabatoge and create as much strife as possible so we WILLINGLY become a socialist state, blaming capitalism.

I cannot think of a single thing he has done that isn't just the OPPOSITE of what he SHOULD have done.

Everytime the Government uses tax dollars for something, it get siphoned off for other reasons, and then they come back for more money to do what they promised they would do with the money the first time. (this time we REALLY mean it)

Want to create jobs? Make all trade policies reciprical with the individual country we are trading with. You impose a steep tariff on our cars and restrict how many we can export to you, we will do EXACTLY the same to you. S Korea would go bankrupt in about a week. OR they would allow Chevys freely into their country, one or the other!

Dammit, vote me for President, I will NOT be populist, I would be ruthless and efficient.
