Re: pyramid larger than the great pyramid found?! (south american archaeology content

I was reading about this a little while back. Good stuff!

Sometimes I think it's amazing that in this day and age we are still discovering new stuff -archeology wise. How'd we miss an enourmous Mayan city (even through the jungle) for so long?

Thanks for posting that Tommy. I love stuff like that. Can you imagine being the one to see that for the first time? And then to keep finding more and more?

I feel that on some levels ancient engineering was superior to modern engineering. And I don't think we've figured out the half of what they were able to accomplish.

Re: pyramid larger than the great pyramid found?! (south american archaeology content

In Boliva there are ruins built well before the Egyptian pyramids. The structures are made of a rock that only diamonds are harder than. They are cut with laser precision, and have channels and grooves laser straight an accurate some only a few centimeters deep, and completely uniformly deep. They all fit together perfectly without mortar. How did man get such technology thousands of years ago?

Amazing that even today we discover new things on the earth despite Satellites with all types of cameras and lenses.

Maybe we know more about the moon or mars than our own planet (not to mention the whole underwater would that we know practically nothing about).

thanks for posting
cheers

I saw it on Discovery Channel a couple of weeks ago. I have no link. The program was about the idea that aliens helped man to accomplish some of the ancient wonders. They said that this site goes unnoticed and laymen, and the general public are not interested in it because it is not a spectical, but historians and such consider it much more significant than the pyramids or another other structure, technology-wise.

And I have forgotten the name of the site, unfortunately. But, I am sure that SOMEONE here can find it on the internet somehow?

Was in Puma Punku? Kind of like a South American Stonehenge, but I daresay more impressive.

For me the question is "how did man forget such technology we obviously had?". Arrogance of conquering and later societies and "ain't shit if we didn't think of it" attitudes are my best guesses.

Angkor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 2007 an international team of researchers using satellite photographs and other modern techniques concluded that Angkor had been the largest preindustrial city in the world with an urban sprawl of 3000 square kilometres. The closest rival to Angkor, the Mayan city of Tikal in Guatemala, was between 100 and 150 square kilometres in total size.[2] Angkor could have supported a population of up to one million people.[3]

The one ancient thing that really blows my mind and that I can't figure out are the Nazca Lines...

I think it is humans from the future messing with his ancestors heads! They intended to only go back to 1959 to buy a new Burst, but accidently went back a few thousand years and made the best of it.....fucking with the primatives, building neat stuff, etc.

I personally don't think the present is as "special" as those of us living in it like to think it is. I think that perception is just the human ego at work. Similar to our "just now" figuring out that many animals have thoughts, feelings, and capabilities we "never" knew they had. Sure we knew. We chose to deny, ignore, and forget. I think it's pretty safe to assume that some dinosaurs built nests that were engineering marvels too.
