It would not matter if he read it or not... that is his normal condition.

Re: A Message from Jerry Garcia :)

this is the guitar solo that made me learn to use my pinky (which was a pretty big developmental break thru)

Re: A Message from Jerry Garcia :)

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

Its a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps theyre better left unsung.
I dont know, dont really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then whos to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

Dig...

Go find this record, if only for Dwight Yoakam's read of "Truckin". Pete's clangin away on a Tele tuned down a helf step rocks serious balls.

Re: A Message from Jerry Garcia :)

i think box of rain is one of my favourite songs ever. i saw the classic albums tv show, and Hunter was talking about either this or ripple.

he's talking about how he wrote the lyrics, looks most misty eyed, and says

"would that those days would come again," and then pauses, gets himself together and continues
"they will of course. but not for me."

makes me cry even thinking about it. i love Hunter, he' great.
