Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
#7. I liked the tone, the timing and the tune. Nice guitar work and vocals too.
All of the tunes were excellent. #5 was very nice too, with very sweet tone and expression.

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
I had to go 7 in this one, it just had all the right vibe. Great guitar work, good vocal to go with it, and the two work well together.
Honorable mention to number 2...it was a bit more literal a take than most covers, but it has a good groove to it and is executed really well.

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
Wow this is a tough one. The two that jumped out at me were 2 and 7 but i have to pick one so i go with 7 only because it was the whole package the playing, tone, groove were great. I have to say though that the Jessica cover was awesome and whoever did that should be very happy with themselves it was a great version.

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
Very hard, very hard indeed. I think I'm with KSG in going with 7. I marked them all out of ten and 6 of the 9 entries were within either half a point or a point of each other.

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
Went for number 7. Not usually a big fan of this type of tone, but this was too cool to not get my vote. Number 2 was also really cool and would have gotten my vote otherwise.

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
First off, they were all excellent. This wasn't easy. I just kept going back to #5. I loved it. The tone was sweet and playing was tight. There were some serious fingers on that little riff there at 1:09. Very nicely done!

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
I voted 7. ZZ Top is hard stuff to play and this guy did a great job. Very cool. Even got some of the voice stuff down.
I thought number 3 was very cool and sounded tight and big, I thought 6 was creative too, putting the lead track over some live show. Sounded cool. ![]() ![]()

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
My vote goes to #7. It has great rhythm and feel. Credit goes to #6 for taking on a U2 cover. It demonstrated a true command of the style of a unique guitarist. Well done.
Thanks to all who entered.

Even if you aren't ready to vote or you don't want to vote for some reason, let the artists know what you thought. Positive critiquing is encouraged. Keep the comments coming!

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
These were really great. I think I know who did a few of these. But I still had to give it up to number 7 over that rhythm playing. That was some nice stuff, man!

Re: *** Rally Poll, Rock-Cover ***
I went with #7 - it completely captured that ZZ vibe. Well done.
Honorable mention - #8. Even though I'm not familiar with the tune, the recording had a nice full sound and the band was tight. All of the entrants in this category were pretty good, but unfortunately only one can get me vote. #7, you're it. - D
