Cool What are your favourite driving songs ?

Don (hipofutura) and I had some fun talking about driving songs the other day and I thought it would make a great thread.

So, what are your favourite driving songs ? Don't ruin this thread by linking to driving song compilation CD's ! This thread is all about YOUR preference and YOUR story behind those songs.

Not to be selfish and fill up this thread all on my own, I'm just going to post my No. 1 driving song. As you may have guessed from my signature, it's:

Golden Earring - Radar Love

The rhythm that Cesar Zuiderwijk (drums) and Rinus Gerritsen (bass) create is just the perfect soundtrack to any ride, anywhere. The chorus builds up to an explosion where the adrenaline really starts pumping ! Somehow, this is song is always making my right foot slightly heavier.

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

Great topic Vin!

MrWrong got my #1 song and Vin got my #2 so I'll go with my #3 all time favorite driving song:

"Bad Case of Loving You".

This may be an oddball, but I love this song for driving...

How about "Ballroom Blitz"!

Leumas, One of my favorite concerts was Three Dog Night in the early 70's. Allsup was playing a Les Paul.

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

Jesus. That's a difficult one to answer.
It all depends on what mood I'm in.. Could be rock, could be classical, could be anything really.

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

A lot. When I have a new cd I'm gonna listen to it while driving. Sitting still and just listen isn't for me. I have to
do something while listening. Driving is perfect for that. And sing along without anybody hearing it.

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

More of a 'car' song than a 'driving song'... you see... you think the lyrics are about a 'girl', when in fact it's about a car see what he did there?

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

My favorite was always this one:

It keeps me in a good mood, promotes attentiveness, and keeps me from driving aggressively. Aggressive rock music often makes people drive like douchebags. Remember that, kids.

Re: What are your favourite driving songs ?

Cookie and Phil should remember this song, it only made it into the charts in the UK and the Netherlands when it was released in '67. Such a cool song should deserve more than that !
