Forget GI Joe

If you want an action movie with even a pinch of intelligence, go see District 9.

Re: Forget GI Joe

Well, I do not want to give much away, but the actors are from South Africa, as is the director. It has action and you care quite a bit about the characters. It is not a perfect movie, but it can get pretty intense at times. It has a bit of a heavy-handed social commentary, as well as a political one.

I was on the edge of my seat a few times.

District 9 is pretty much a Halo movie that isn't called Halo

I would say not at all, actually. The director of District 9 has made Halo movies, but I don't think this bears any resemblance to any Halo stuff, aside from the fact that aliens are involved. I'd say this movie is more a social commentary than anything.

Re: Forget GI Joe

Let me rephrase what I said, it's the closest to a Halo movie we will ever get. Like you said, the director made those short Halo movies. Plus D9 is based in Africa and there are aliens, making it pretty close to a Halo movie minus Master Chief and pew pewing

I always go alone, if no one else wants to go. Who needs to go to a movie WITH anybody? I have seen at least 70% of the 30-40 movies I see a year alone.
