Heaven's gonna need a bigger boat. Roy Scheider died.

Roy Scheider - Telegraph

Roy Scheider, a stage actor with a background in the classics who became one of the leading figures in the American film renaissance of the 1970s, died on Sunday afternoon in Little Rock, Ark. He was 75 and lived in Sag Harbor, N.Y.

Mr. Scheider had suffered from multiple myeloma for several years, and died of complications from a staph infection, his wife, Brenda Seimer, said.

Calls for at least a Jaws viewing I feel. Maybe time to watch All That Jazz as well.
I liked him in Blue Thunder with Malcolm MacDowel too.

RIP Chief Brody.

"We're gonna need a bigger boat" is one of the best lines ever. As you said Harpo, RIP Chief Brody.

Re: Heaven's gonna need a bigger boat. Roy Scheider died.

I went to a drive in movie to see Blue Thunder and Escape from New York together. Great pairing. Plus, I had my fiancée in the front seat with me, and my future wife in the back seat, though she came up front to join us.

They shut the Braintree double drive in down soon thereafter, and a bit later my fiancée and I broke up, but I started dating the other fine lady, who is now my wife of fifteen years!
So Blue Thunder holds some interesting memories.
My wife has never seen Jaws though. Since we lived in beach towns, she did not want to get scared of the ocean!.

My eight year old daughter Katy walked through the living room while I was watching Jaws and saw a plume of blood shooting into the sky. She stopped, mesmerized, went pale, then ran as I shut the TV off! I told her it was JAWS, and she never wants to watch it now

Maybe I'll warm her up with Discovery channel's Shark week!

But tonight, I'll be playing Roy Scheider at his finest, Chief Brody.
Watch out little Katy, don't walk through the living room tonight

Re: Heaven's gonna need a bigger boat. Roy Scheider died.

Googled last night on Jaws, one of the best movies ever. Found some interesting stuff.

- Originaly, Charlton Heston was considered for the role of Chief Brody

- Originaly, Lee Marvin was considered for the role of Quint. Then Robert Duvall.

-Richard Dreyfuss originally turned down the role of Hooper, and options were Jeff Bridges, Timothy Bottoms, Jon Voight and Jan-Michael Vincent

-Victoria Principal as Elen Brody

- The only original choice who actualy appeared in the movie: Murray Hamilton as the greedy Mayor of Amity.

Robert Shaw could not stand Richard Dreyfuss and they argued all the time, which resulted in some good tension between Hooper and Quint.

Makes you wonder. IMHO, Charlton Heston would ruined Brody. But Lee Marvin as Quint? Hmmm.....

Shaw was perfect as Quint.

Victoria Principal would have upped the fap factor.

Keith Oberman had a nice piece on him on MSNBC. But otherwise I had not seen much in the news, you are correct.
Weird, all this crap on Paris H, or Brittany , each day too. Our society is unhinged. Time to go play some rock chords LOUDLY!

Even though the subject material normally would not appeal to me, his BEST movie was All That Jazz!!
