In the middle east as here, many people share common names. This myth of finding hijackers alive was disproved ages ago, through the use of birthday comparisons. As far as training goes, we will never know because they are dead. The fact remains that the transponders were turned off. Civilian airline tracking sites like 'flightaware.com' indicate this as well.

Nice try.... you don't quit do you?

Any Al-Queda quack chemist educated in the US would know that jet fuel won't get that hot without a catalyst. Nothing definitive can be said about the origin of the thermite with the current amount of data we have. To asume that it came from a covert op is completely groundless.

Again, in addition there were also Chemical Oxygen Generators aboard the plane. All of the variables have to be considered.
no...its not a "smoking gun"........yet......strange,to say the least

It is very easy to turn off a transponder it is simply a radio switch and is a very basic component of flight training. You can't leave the ground without a serviceable transponder in controlled airspace so you need to know how to use one.

Apparently some folks around here aren't familiar with Science's best friend, Ockham's Razor.

I won't say anything more; Geochem1st works quite effectively as my mouthpiece with an added benefit of not raising my blood pressure.

I'll admit; cooler heads have prevailed here (for the alternate version, look up any of MLP's 'Gun Threads').

Re: What conspiracy theories do you think might be true?

I genuinely think the good thing about this thread is that there are two differing points of view, and for many people just looking in, and also those involved in posting, it is thought-provoking. I concede that geo has made many good points, and BstrdSonOJmsBrwn has done so as well.

The bottom line for me is that I still have an uneasy feeling about the whole thing, and that pushes me in the direction of being enquiring and inquisitive. That's no bad thing, is it?

Thanks John. And we are still inquisitive, like I said about the thermite in the dust discovery. It makes me uneasy as well until more information is gained.
