Too bad some people have to act that way. I myself have no doubt that this contest was run on the up and up, or you wouldn't have got my donation. So thanks BOBBO for all your hard work!!

Ok buddy breathe.......all is good.

Although I am not an Attorney....I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

You have done NOTHING wrong with the financial transactions.....I have an inside source, who admits this is not her specialty, but believes that since you are not a representative of St. Judes and was acting on behalf of MLP Forums....having the contributor pay for PayPal is NOT illegal to her knowledge. It , in her opinion, would be no different than adding PayPal fees for a "Fourm" t-shirt.

Now, she also believes that the statements on his MySpace page could be construde as Slanderous and a Defemation of your character.
She suggests a NICE letter to MySpace and the creator of said document to cease and dissist immediately.
Also, if you don't have an Attorney friend, a small fee for consultation and a letter might be in order.

It's sad that these situations occur. The internet is our greatest acess to knowledge......just to be ruined by the people whom could benefit from it the most.
Mark

Ps...maybe a little more cowbell will cheer you up.

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

Hey Bobbo...you're a good dude, and I for one never had a doubt about the Charity Drive. Obviously I'm not alone.

As I stated before--even if some great pickups weren't being given away I'd have donated, as St Jude's is a great cause. I thank the pickup makers for their time and generosity in this endeavor.

I don't know exactly what generated the negative vibes from the commenter in question, but good riddance to bad rubbish.

Press on, Bobbo! I can't wait to see how much we raised, and who the lucky winners will be.

Cheers!

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

I think those sort of accusations are outrageous. I must say that I have had a few conversations with Bobbo (international calls that cost a lot and which he didn't have to make at his own expense for this competition ) and have absolutely no doubts about his integrity.
Meanwhile just remember that clowns have feelings too !

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

I can't tell you guys how much your support in this matter means to me !! I hope I can continue to help others with future charity events but at this moment in time , I have to take a much less active role here on MLP !! ...

Alex will be drawing the winning names when the contest is over !! I have been getting alot of questions about getting late entries in , So the plan right this moment is to extend the contest for 2 more weeks to give people time to get more donations/entries into the contest and give Will & Wolfe a bit more time to complete their project !! Keep those donations coming !!

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

I have decided to address this as nicely as possible. I don't know why grown men are acting this way. If one person does not like the other. Stay away from each other. Plain and simple. To try and hurt one personal and business life to me is just plain wrong.

People this is a forum. It is to discuss the nature of the forum topics. It is not fill your heads up as some master of the domain. I am really upset that some are talking about this charity as if it's a fraud. I can careless if you or anybody want to talk crap but our business along with Wolfe's is part of this and we are not taking kindly to any of this. If you don't like another forum member or what they have to say. Oh well! Move on. No reason to take it personal at all.

Now, If any of you have any messages sent to you regarding this topic. Please forward it to me. I truly feel that our attorney needs to look at this and see what actions needs to take place. We will keep your confidentiality a secret.

While I am at it. It was brought to my attention that someone here was sending PM's about WB pickups. Saying that Will does not wind his pickups and other wonderful rumors. Hmmm.... I guess that's why we have such a back log that we had to stop taking orders just for Will to catch up.

Well, I will say to that person who is in bed with our competitor. You will be hearing from our attorney as well. Since this is grown men acting out like children. I would like to also say, GROW UP! Enough is enough.

Laura

PS, I am sorry if I am coming off like a biatch! But I am so sick and tired of all the drama. If all you drama heads spend as much time playing guitar as you do starting controversy. You may get you dreams answered and get noticed in the world as somebody!

Hey MrsWB...well said; sometimes i think that women like you should have a turn at running everything...your common sense shines through like a beacon of truth in a haze of irresponsibility... Thank you!

Thanks for supporting this great charity!

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

No one has ever sent me a message bashing Will, but why would they, they know how I feel about his product. I personally dont really care if he hand winds them or not, or has some little Elves doing it for him, he has a great product that I like. Alot of people make great products, we all dont buy the same product of anyones. I personally dont tell anyone else that has another product in their guitars that they have a piece of shit. Listen people we have been given a place to gather here FREE of charge, to make friends, offer our thoughts, have a little fun. Im not here to make enemies, or show expertise that I dont really have in any certain area. Im just guitar player Joe, I have my opinions just as others do theirs. I have a lot of fun doing a little jabbing, and getting jabbed back at. Most of you know that most everything I do here is done in jest. BTW I'll keep buying Wills pups, but that doesnt mean I'll never try anothers, and anothers. I have done things for Will and several others here that I wont name, just because I like them, not trying to get in on anyones good side, its just the way I am. But here lately Ive been getting in on some grief, that I have no business in.......Although I doubt it will happen again........Just so everyone know's from now on, I will not take sides with anyone here so please dont ask. Besides I'm not important enuff too.

(for those of you reading this, its a joke. If you don't get it, don't try to figure it out)

OK guys and gals ... Here's the scoop ...... Because i've gotten a lot of people wanting to get in last minute donations and the fact that due to some extreme circumstances Will couldn't make it up to Wolfe's shop this weekend to do the winding .. The end date of the contest has been pushed back to March 30th !!! Good luck to all and keep those donations coming !!!!

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

Makes sense for all this background stuff to just dye down and go away. Dunno where it came from, but we got the banishments of folks with Axes to grind ( Pun there folks ....) And a lot of rumor and potential legal actions coming out from all this. Time to just get back to slingin' music each other's way and supporting different winders as our needs dictate.

I'm with the Rev on this one.
Good to see the contest adding a little time too. Couldn't hurt the cause any

I do miss some of the members no longer with us though. But this is the way forums have to work. We HAVE to get along, or it all falls apart.

Re: MyLesPaul Pickups for Charity !!! Contest !!!

I'm still trying to figure out the taco truck joke....

And although I don't visit this forum as often as I want to (geez, sometimes work can be such a pain in the ass), and really have no idea what the above mentioned hub-bub is about, I DO know this is a great, supportive forum that I will continue to visit, ask questions of, and contribute whenever I can.

Oh yeah, I very much support Bobbo, and think the charity drive is a great cause...glad to help St. Judes, and having a chance to win some suh-weeeet pickups is kinda nice too.

I have a tobacco-burst Elitist arriving today that's gonna need some new p/u's (hint for the karma bank)

Peace Ya'll!!

(oh jeez, did that just make me sound like Britney?)

Too funny Mike. He is quite spoiled by the taco truck guy. Can you believe they deliver directly to him, he doesn't even have to leave his seat? He does love that shop location.

Hey MLP'ers ... Good news !!! After a lengthy conversation with a representative from PayPal , I have found out that there is no problem with the way we accepted PayPal donations for the charity !!!!!!! But please make all future donations by check or MO as it is alot easier to keep track of !!!! The new end date for the contest is March 30th ... So there is still plenty of time to get a donation in !!!

hey everyone, i have been away more than usual, work, life etc... I missed all this hub bub. Glad to see flick stepped in and took care of it though. This is a charity for children for goodness sakes, CHILL OUT dudes, whoever it was that was doing whatever they did... I'm lost on it all... I haven't noticed who is here and who is gone??? Oh well, this place is better off without them.

Good on you Laura, you always seem to have a level head on these things. But as a side note, for your air quality, you might want to keep Will away from the Taco truck more often than not.

Man, I remember being in California (I was stationed in the USAF near Vacaville)...taco trucks are the dog's bollocks...some of the best food around.

I can't blame him for being hooked...and they deliver right to the bench? Heaven...
