Man that is a great sounding guitar,

very good job, i usualy dont like Acoustic but
thats killer
Wonder what kind of pickup and preamp he is using
usualy when you use distortion with acoustic they feed
back terribly

Good old Jomo introduced me to this guy a month or so ago. Blew me away. He even makes the thing sound like a Strat. I am now a huge Monte fan and will sieze the first opportunity I get to see him. Thanks again Jomo!

Awesome tones and astounding technique, but I'm sorry, that is NOT Little Wing anymore. He's turned it into a show-off piece that might better be titled "Little Wing Gets Raped By a Series of Irrelevant notes".

I had the exact opposite reaction to it, Jason.

I've stated my opinion about that song a number of times here - that anyone who tried duplicating Hendrix' original (yeah, even SRV) came up woefully short and did the equivalent of a bad cover version.

This version actually does something different. I dig it.

That is a good point... I guess I could say "at least he took it in his own direction rather than just another weak cover". Like I said, I give props for his insane abilities on the guitar.

But it sounds almost nothing like the original, and to me he completely lost the flow of it. It's just chock full of notes and then abruptly goes into a slower section, followed by another section that's just chocked full of as many notes as possible. It sounds terrible to me.

Re: Incredible Elec/Acoustic version of "Little Wing"...!!!

Cookie swoopin' in like a crazy owl love doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason! I love you and I know where you're coming from. You're being purist and what is wrong with that. Who loves a clever c**t? You know what? It depends on your mood. If I'm on a downer or pissed about something you can put a genius in front of me and I will want to give him a slap.
If life is sweet and flowing you'll stand and give the guy an ovation. I hope people get what I'm saying here.

Sometimes you can put too much sherry in the trifle, that's a fact, music is so personal, that's why opinions differ so much here, but also why we enjoy the debate so much. Paul Kossof was a player I much appreciated. He could bend a note, lay one or two over it and make your hair stand up. Others have got to flay the mother of pearl off the board to make someone sit up and take notice. Bully for them.

Personally, maybe because I've not been exposed to it, I found Monte a fresh and mind blowing experience. I loved him. But there are idols worshiped on this forum who have dozens of collective tongues up their arses who I woldn't give the bus fare home to. My right and yours too.

As the Sentry would say......"Peace!"

You must have never had a good sherry...

...and it's a necessary ingredient in a good 'ol fashioned trifle. My Mum still makes them for me even on this side of the Atlantic.

Face it, your mum makes you trifle with sherry as yet another excuse to empty a bottle of sherry! I do that when I make a Guinness-flavored stew or something like that!

Again, you've obviously never had one that didn't cost a half-pound in the back of an alley someplace.

Seriously though, I have a bottle or two from an incredible vineyard in Sonoma, California that would rival the best the world can offer.

Re: Incredible Elec/Acoustic version of "Little Wing"...!!!

Back to the alcohol/cooking thread! A trifle without sherry ain't a trifle. A stew stewed without a good dark beer ain't a proper stew. Fact! And I want dumplings, pearl barley, split peas and bones.......
