The collar on that shirt is soooooooo badass!

And that bass player with the combination of the 'fro and the black outfit, looks like an SM58.

Yup, my favorite of the kings, Albert, BB, Freddie. I'll take Freddie every time. Beside, he had stylin' clothes!

Re: How cool was Freddie King?? This cool!

I was lucky to meet him, I was a sound man way back when and Freddie did a gig at The Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK. Just him and me split a half bottle of burbon after the afternoon sound check. It was cool!

Re: How cool was Freddie King?? This cool!

I thought the tone sounded familiar. I did a quick google, found out he used big-ass fenders. Dual showmans, super six's, quad reverb, etc. Pretty cool to own one of those.

+2. I love Freddie King. I love the instrumental stuff he put out in the early 60's (Hideaway, San-Ho-Zay, and so on) and his later, more rocking, blues songs (Palace of the King). I'm glad that he is not forgotten. Thanks

I bought The Freddie King Collection when I was learning how to play and his influence is all over my playing years later. Clapton really went to school with Freddie's licks and made great use of it.

I don't know which I would have wanted more, a guitar lesson with The King or a seat at a poker game with him and Grand Funk (We're an American Band).

Born in '75. I missed out and he left us too soon.

Goin' Down. Enough said.

Albert and Freddie were way influential when you listen to their albums. (Not that BB isn't, I have just heard more albert and freddie licks copped nearly verbatim by "gods".)

The Kings ARE the kings - all of 'em. My eldest son's name is Riley, after BB- aka Riley B King.

A drunken sound man? Be glad Freddie didn't give you the "finger(s)"
