These shouldn't sell for much more than a regular R9. The listed price on the Gibson site is about $500 more than the VOS R9. I don't think that these will be $8K. They should be about $400 more than a regular 09 R9.

I don't get the whole pricing thing that's going on on the website. First they were $10,500, then $8,500, then $10,500, and now $8,500 again.

Gibson's price on a gloss R9 is also $8,500 on their website. Something doesn't add up. There's no way Gibson won't be charging a premium for the official 50th anniversary model.

Looks like Peavey is putting accent lighting inside their amp heads like Hughes and Kettner amps. Or was this just for the show ?

Re: *** NAMM 2009 *** MLP Scoops the Web (Pictures)

I played 4 or 5 of them today and I must say it really is a beautiful guitar. The Cherry Sunburst in person is gorgeous, I prefer it over the Tobacco Sunburst. The Mike Bloomfield was very impressive, that's the guitar that would get my money first. The aging on it looks the best I've seen Murphy do so far. I was able to score 6 of the Anniversary R9 brochures. They have a ton a info and pics including Jimmy Page, Billy Gibbons,Eric Clapton, Keith Richards as well as a time line on how the Burst came to popularity and all the new specs of the R9. Don't worry Bobbo, one will be on its way to you when I get home...

Re: *** NAMM 2009 *** MLP Scoops the Web (Pictures)

So we should buy some and resell them on ebay? Make lots of money? Who's gonna buy em jacked up? I guess us if we don't get them first?

I suppose it has a better rate of return than the stock market.
I buy to own though. I'm waiting for4 the 1960 fiftieths next year. Better be a three pickup black Custom in the works for then

the new Mesa reminds me of the early 70's UNIVOX amps, kind of
which were kind of cool

They didn't have anything in the book about it or any other literature there. I'll take a close up photo of the description next to the guitar tomorrow when I get back and I'll ask one of the reps a little more about it. I did over hear one guy talking about it being around $9k, I'm not sure if he was guessing or if he knew for sure. It sure is a great looking guitar.
