I applied @ Guitar Center today

I called and they said I should apply online. So I did that. I would have prefered an interview since I have many qualifications from dealing with customers at mcdonalds. So I applied, answered some questions on how I react to different situations. Then I had to do a knowledge test. I signed up for guitar sales, but apparently the test has you do a bunch of stuff with drums, key boards, and mixers... I answered every guitar questions correctly, except for what is a common pre-amp tube. I said it was like a7xs or something like that. Hopefully they get back to me soon.

i also applied with them the other day online for an "Operational Assistant". Im not really sure what that means. Im still waiting to hear back from them. Goodluck!

Ah, yes.. the personality test! Every time I had to take one of those as part of an interview process I didn't get the job. I also tried to find a date on eharmony.com and, after taking the personality test, they told me they couldn't help me.

Good luck with the job...I applied for a part-time position after I retired form the USAF, but I think I intimidated the manager--I had more experience and education than he did.

You would think so, but they usually throw in different versions of the same question to screw with you and/or catch your BS.

Nah, I know how to avoid that. First off, you don't choose strongly agree everytime. You throw in some agrees etc etc etc.

Also I had a class in High school where they teacher would F' with us like that. I am immune

really??, half the guys at GC don't know shit, i went in there to buy an Amplug and the guy rang me up wrong, he didn't give me a 15% discount, then when he tried to redo it, my card wouldn't work so my sister had to buy it for me

I wonder what they would tell me if I applied and told them where I work now haha.

I am probably not acceptable for employment at Guitar Center. ALL the sales would go down when I tried to sell everybody 'real' stuff and not the toys they usually carry.

Although, I do find some really awesome stuff hanging out in the sound room @ the 'good' Guitar Center around here. Soldano, Diezel, etc.

Some people like to bash on GC but in my experience they've been pretty knowledgeable, very helpful, and very cool about letting me try whatever I want.
