pick guard material

where can i get some pick guard material ,i want to redo my dash panel gauges in my truck ,i would like to use pick guard material to cover the das

Allparts sells pickguard blank material, but they're only about the size of a regular guard, obviously, and coast over $60 each.

Not sure how much you need though.

i'm not going to be a dick and say "google is your friend", but just how much effort have you put into trying to find some? i only ask because just about every online guitar parts place i have ever seen sells it, as do about a gazillion sellers on ebay!

Actually, with respect, there's not a whole lot to find on the 'bay that's cost-effective. Most of that stuff is pre-cut and drilled for strat guards and such, and most of it is a rather poor photograph of tort (If tort is what he's looking for) on top of plastic. The other option is the real-deal cellulose stuff from Europe, and it costs a pretty penny. Stew mac offers an acrylic alternative for around $20 per sheet that will probably serve well.

If you've got a link to sheets of tort for a good price, please pass it on!

Be careful. Not all materials can handle the cold or the heat that it will have to handle in a car. Also, some materials turn to dirt (literally) over time, when exposed to sunlight.
