Re: Music other MLP'ers listen to?

MLP is probably a little bit country, and a little bit rock and roll.

Damn me for being old enough to quote Donnie & Marie!

Seriously, it's hard to say. There are a lot of classic rock fans here, to include southern rock. I have to imagine some current stuff as well. Jheez, there are so many members here our music taste must be all encompassing.

I am happy it's been a while since I read a no good music since the 70's comment though

If he does, he's in good company. Tommy was brilliant on Broadway! Also, the soundtracks for Heavy Metal and Singles are must haves.

Knock off the false humility, Lee. You're worth listening to.

Don't go too far in the other direction, but don't lose sight of how cool you are, either.

Thank you, River. I may want to retract my self recognition for "most handsome" in JonMan's award thread now. Seriously, thank you!

Re: Music other MLP'ers listen to?

Classic Rock, English/Texas Electric Blues, old Southern and Hard Rock, some 80s hard rock/"hair band", and a slight touch of Country (mainly stuff like Brad Paisley, Keith Urban but that's mostly for playing than lyrics).

But I'm pretty much a notorious Classic 70s Rock purist. Like some 60s and 80s but love almost all 70s rock. Hate the 90s except for Black Crowes and occasionally Alice In Chains early stuff. But generally speaking grunge did nothing for me. And anything past that no way. Not a modern rock or metal guy at all.

I would guess Drew listens to The Beatles, Silver Sun Pickups, Foo Fighters...

And Neo strikes me as a Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, Zeppelin, Frank Zappa kind of person.

Re: Music other MLP'ers listen to?

I was going to take a wild guess that The Fezz is a clandestine lover of Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, and Bessie Smith . . . but since this thread already had its pooch screwed, I think I'll pass on that . . .

For the record: I'm first and foremost a blues guy, as a listener and as a player. But for other listening only, I'm inclined to jazz, classic soul, reggae, classical and experimental music, vintage rock, and several ethnic and Native American musics . . .

Right now, though, I've got this 1965 album playing through the computer Bose . . .
