Red Dawn Remake

They finally released a trailer for it. It actually looks pretty decent, as far as remakes go.

It's been a few years since they announced it, it's about time. I'm looking forward to it......which means it will probably suck, but I hope not!

Looks pretty decent. Is that Josh from "Drake and Josh"? I'll never be able to take his character seriously.

Sweet kisses for Daddy, I been wondering when they'd get around to remaking this.

I pray the SUCK is not great with this one....

There are plenty of independent films on Netflix. How many of them have you ever watched?

Re: Red Dawn Remake

I walked out on the first Red Dawn because it was just too farfetched.

At least, it was at the time.

Now, though, that kind of scenario for this country is more likely.

Maybe a remake is a good idea.

I actually really want to see this. Even though the original is really corny, its still a great idea for a "what if" movie.

I have to agree. Just how many hulk movies or spiderman movie remakes do we need. Now another Bourne movie, robocop, true grit....they're making another American werewolf in London, another Escape from New York, War games, the Warriors.... It does seem like 90% of all new movies coming out are remakes now. I guess all the ideas have been used up....kind of like car names.

I always thought the Ford Probe was funny....I'm waiting for the Chevy Catheter now.

Maybe I'm one of the few who think this, but, certain movies shouldn't be remade and Red Dawn is one of them.

Not one, just like 90% of the people. Come on, do you not see the trend the last decade or so where "mainstream" films are just remaking and not creating much?

No shit. They do it because people really don't watch original ideas. So why waste money on them? The consumers don't WANT original. So hollywood doesn't MAKE original.

The kids and certain other targeted demographics will lap it up. Presented in queasy cam. I liked the first one but was a kid,the original has not aged well and since its the same premise...

There are plenty of original ideas coming out of the indie film scene every day. People don't watch them. People will flock to the theaters to see the latest adaption, or sequel, or remake, but when it comes to taking the risk paying for an unknown, original storyline, their wallet is tighter than a politicians asshole. So WHY should someone risk their money to make something people aren't willing to risk their money to see?
