Hey listen... I know, I'm not a doctor but listen anyway.

Cortisone is no 'effin' good for you.

It damages the immune system and in the long run does nothing for the original problem.

I will step down from the soapbox now...

I had one in a shoulder, and it was a bit of a thing. It relived the pain immediately, but getting the shot, was "painful". Not a sharp pain, but just a sick-to-my-stomach pain.

But, it cured my shoulder pain, that had lingered for several months.

I had to really talk the doc into it, he was against the shot.

I'd do it again.

I hopefully will never have to, but that was an ordeal. I'm giving my current shoulder injury (the opposite shoulder) plenty of time to get better, and probably some other options, but I'd do another shot, if it came to that.

Yeah, he did a cold spray for the local injection pain, but it's the follow up that's killing me. Effing bass drum injury, if you can believe that. Jesus!

I was just learning to play, and my kick drum foot got a jammed up in the end of my shoe. By the time I realized it (it started hurting), damage was done. Won't heal because every step strains the ligament again, which pinches the nerves in the toes. Weirdly, doesn't hurt when I play soccer.

I never had foot pain like I did after my first soccer game.

I haven't had a cortisone shot, but when I broke my hand, the doc shot it with some stuff that's supposed to make it numb. It felt like he was shooting jello into my hand

My mom says those cortisone shots hurt like a mofo though.

Try several into the arch of your foot. I wanted to cry like a baby. They offered 5 weekly shots. I quit after 3.

They are doing Alcohol shots now. New stuff and supposedly just as effective. Chick I'm bangin works for a podiatrist.

I'll trade your little old shot for the knee surgery I had about two weeks ago.. Even with painkillers it still hurts like fu*k.

Had it in my knees a couple times. Will never do that again!

Now I get them in my right shoulder every three months. Only works for about a month, but totally worth it.

I forgot, I had that also. I don't remember that hurting so much though. Not as bad as the knee anyway. I think they shot in a tiny bit o'morphine before the cortisone.

Actually, that shot worked pretty well also. Just into my knees where it didn't work. Ugh, had some five week injection thing going on in my knees as well, ultimate in suckery!
