So apparently i fear my potential and i coud be doing so much more to play what id like to play...or so says a guy whos been playing guitar since he left drums because he fought with his brother and lost his drumkit because of pride (hes about 8 months into playing....im about to be 4 in...)

so he gave me a lecture on why i shoud listen to him to become a guitar god, and no offense intended but a drummer cannot go around telling other guitarists how to play their instrument, i like learning slow to be honest, gives me time to break down the song and even use the chords on other stuff i may come up with. it also gives me a chance to grab some lead and rythm parts and then change the pattern to my liking or to a different tone, i play around too much with a song before actually moving on or saying that i can play it.

back to the guy...it naturally pissed me off that he started saying that guitar is so much easier then drums, he practices more then 6 hours a day...i woud hate to do that if i became a robot. i prefer to take 1 or 2 hours on something i really feel passionate about, how bout you guys?

next thing i did was tell him i was very annoyed at how he was telling me how better i coud be when he only played guitar for so very little, and i got pissed because i know he doesnt know jackshit about chords and rythm parts (i do not consider myself "good" im more like " acceptable " but hell...atleast i know what a G C D chord progression is....or i have an idea) i may only be pissed at that guy kind of tryin to demoralize me, and the fact that i feel he spits on something i fricking LOVE to do and dont need nobody to tell me how to do it to be comfortable with myself.

well, it seems like he got mad at me because i didnt listen to his " pro tip " and deleted me off face book with the statement " ill still say hello to you on the street but its not my problem if you dont wanna hear me " man....anyone woud be pissed if someone came and said something you been doing for years is easy to do at the same level your doing it. i woud KILL to have people of good musical interests in my town, its really weird there are only metal heads over here, seriously 80% of the bands here are either hardcore or metal and the other ones are norteño bands ._.

if i met just ONE drummer whos into it for the fun of it, just ONE bassist that loves to keep a solid rythm, it woud be so much better and it woud be a darn good start. i already vented it out with him this morning, and after him trying to get the last word again and acting like a 12 year old when i brought down some facts on him i honestly was about to kick his face in at how much disrespect he has for the thing i love to do, PLAY MUSIC...and specially guitar. i woud get expelled from college....its fricking mexico but i can still get expelled for that....seriously ._.

its just that.....ARRRGGHHHH I WANT TO TWIST HIS DAMN NECK OFF >_>

Pretty much every drummer I've known are just amazing musicians. All the drummers I know are not just amazing drummers, but extremely competant at pretty much any musical instrument. I HATE them (jealousy)!

your absolutely right, its awesome if you can play alot of instruments and i know a few of the norteño band that can even play accordeon and piano. everyone is jealous of somebody, i know i am of a certain person in my town, but im guessing not a bad kind of jealous....i just steal from him from time to time to learn something new... >_>

Honestly... Yup, a wee bit bitchy. Coming here to vent is cool. Sometimes we all need a support system just to vent to and mlp is ideal for that. However, regardless of what was said, in the end the dude really was just trying to help. If you can just blow off what he said and appreciate the spirit in which he said it, you'd probably be good to just let it go.

i do not mind help at all, its just the way he said it. if he said " you coud be better " i woud be listening but....he didnt. instead all i got was " you coud be better and its your own fault because you fear your potential " while it may sound the same i dont like someone trying to establish a way of doing things for me, im kind of stubborn about it. but yeah...a bit bitchy i feel but its vented...
