I am renting a rental place in HI for the coming weeks and would like
to ask Hawaiian MLP Bro if these rental place is legit.

Convenient location in the heart of Salt Lake!!!

The reason I wanted to find out is that..he's asking a Moneygram and or Western Union for a deposit.

Any help is appreciated.

Seems to me like they should be willing to wait for a personal check to clear; it's not like you're moving in tomorrow.

I am wary coz I rented a lot of property in the past,this is the first time that someone ask me for a Moneygram/Western Union for a deposit.

I think you're rightfully feeling wary about it. It may very well be legit, but I don't think I'd be willing to chance it. If a personal check nor credit card for deposit is good enough for them, I'd look elsewhere.

Also if you look around, like hotpads.com etc...many report of being scammed renting apartments in HI this way. Locals in HI advise people to not pay landlords this way too, saying it's a common scam.

I would be careful.
