Two years of posts vanished overnight...

I logged on last night and noticed that someone had liked a post I had made. So I went to check out what post it was and noticed that all of my likes had vanished from the list. Well...OK, that's not that big a deal I figured. But then I noticed something else...not only were my likes missing, but so were all the posts I've made in the two years I've been a member here. It may show 94 posts under my handle, but the only posts remaining on the board are the ones I made yesterday and today, all 5 of them. That's from a total post count of about 2500 I think, maybe more.

Everything is gone, every thread I started, every post I ever made. The only traces remaining are quotes of my posts that others may have made. Other than that, my entire MLP existance has been erased.

Maybe a moderator will see this and check things out but I'm really pissed off at the moment.

That's not usually something that would randomly happen. Hopefully they can be restored. I'm assuming regular database backups are made?

Don't see how that's possible. Post count is a live calculation. PM a mod or three.

I will when I have more time but I have to get to work and I'll be on a customer site today and won't have any time to log on. Hopefully a mod will see this thread or I'll send a PM as soon as I get a chance. Besides...if I send a PM now, my language may not be as respectful as it is in my posts at the moment. I do understand how boards work and yes, mistakes do sometimes happen. But I've never seen an entire member's posting history wiped out in one stroke, at least not by accident.

MLP is strange. I have the opposite problem. I wake up and there are TONS of posts I don't remember writing? I have over 8,000 posts. I remember writing 200. Strange World. Hopefully they figure it out. STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN HERE!

This is true. I used to be Admin for a band's forum a few years back, and when threads/posts are deleted, the corresponding users' post counts will also go down. As stated earlier in the thread, it's an active calculation.

As far as i know, MLP doesn't really delete old threads, especially to the extent where a user loses over 2000 posts. Threads seem to get 'moved' to a hidden archive, which won't affect post counts.

It looks malicious to me.

on another forum i belong to, there is a minimum post count to use the classified section so people who are there to buy/sell/trade make one liners and +1 posts. Then they get all pissed when the mods delete everything.

Lucky you.. It took me forever and a day clearing out reams of PM's and they still haven't gone.. All there are now are page upon page of..This message has been deleted. Why can't one just clear the lot out?

My dear Phil....let me help you out old man

Where you have the boxes you have to select for each message, above all of them is one box on it's own. Select that box and it will highlight all that page.
Then delete..page of messages gone

And you do realize that you can tick (check) as many messages as you want on that page before you select delete, if you didn't want the whole page deleted?

If you want to keep any for good, you can select which ones and you can download them to your computer (option in drop down box) then delete them off MLP Pm's.

There is a (Empty Folder) option.

Click it and say yes.

One and done.

Keep in mind though Phil, that also gets rid of all outgoing Pm's too.
