Father kills man who sexually assaulted daughter update..

The original thread to this story missed some important information out and/or was not correct with some details of what happened.

I posted this version of the news story with a news video in the other thread, but as it would take a long while to find it in there and some don't read the whole thread before posting, thought it was best to start a new thread about it, given the latest update. Most likely over time there will be more details about it or changes to what happened.

Father kills man who molested his daughter | wcsh6.com

The grandfather apparently sent out his grandaughter and grandson out to to feed the chickens while he and his 23 old son went off to shod a horse.

Then the girl's brother went running to his dad/grandad and told them that a man had taken the girl away.
The father went looking for his 4 yr old daughter and found a man, who came to the ranch with a family friend, with his daughter who was half naked.
There was a fight and the man was dead on the ground. The father called the sherrif dept.

A neighbor said he heard a girl screaming and the commotion that happened afterwards.

They also say the girl was sexually assaulted and sent to the hospital for treatment but now back home.

Shod the horse, not shot the horse. That said, the report only adds to my sense that this is a case of justifiable homicide. Breaks my heart to think of that poor little girl and her father.

I agree. I can only imagine what went through his mind seeing that man doing that to his daughter. That man took his daughter away knowing full well what his intentions were, sick bastard.

That poor girl and yes the father too. Traumatic for them both.

What father, that found out who took his daughter and found him, wouldn't have the sudden urge to beat the shit out of him? Still a horribly sad story, and shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Today's courts are populated by jurors like you and me.

We don't have trial-by-judge like the Brits, unless the defendant insists.

If he should be fine, he'll be fine.

He won't be charged, I don't think. There's a few pages on it in the old thread, but it boils down to Texas law permitting deadly force to thwart a forcible sexual assault.

I'm pretty sure that his defense would fly in any courtroom, in any state. That's why we have jury trials, ain't it? What would a reasonable person do in that situation?

At the very worst, he'd get a hung jury, but I'm hard-pressed to imagine that any DA would be silly enough to try this kinda case.

Yes, the original thread (which I did not post in) seemingly left alot of that out, and now I really can't see any reason to defend the person.

Texas law provides for deadly force to be applied in order to stop a sexual assault. Assuming the rape kit supports the reported circumstances, the consequences he'll face aren't legal, but psychological, and will last the rest of his life.

I personally don't have a problem with his actions, and I won't waste any salt crying over the rapist's early demise.
