Webcam program?

I've been looking for a good program to use so you can record videos with your webcam. The one that came with the computer, has about a 2 second delay from the video and the audio. For example, if I record my self plucking a string, I hear the note, then about 2 seconds later I see myself plucking it.

Thanks in advance

Re: Webcam program?

Yea, this is most likely due to slow hardware, either your PC or the webcam itself. It's doubtful that new software would help.

Post your specs and we'll find out.

Re: Webcam program?

It's built in, and I doubt it's a slow Comp
2.4 Gig processor
4 Gig Ram
Vista

It's just some crappy software I got with the labtop. I had a program called Youcam, that worked perfectly, but my trail ended, and I don't want to pay for software that I won't use that much,

Re: Webcam program?

make sure that your cam is active... then:
right-click the 'my computer' icon, go to 'device manager', then go to the 'imaging devices' line (expand the line using the [+] if need be)...

what cam is shown?

Your computer's considered in line with the "high ends". It's with the software. Try downloading it. Do you want freewares? If you want, I could hook you up. Just send me a PM if you're interested.

Re: Webcam program?

I dont know if a proprietary software such as Logitech's webcam software will work but you can try it. It's free on their website. Just pick a camera product like a Fusion or one of the others, download the software and try it. The worst that can happen is that it won't recognize your camera or be compatible with it. If all else fails, buy the one you know will work. I have also heard that virtualdub will work with webcams. It's free. Just Google it.

Re: Webcam program?

i dont advocate loading bespoke drivers for unidentified hardware...
better to identify the hardware first. try the method as detailed in post #6 above dude.

throwing in random drivers is never wise. it might get a result, but its far from ideal. identify the webcam, then go to their site and download the official drivers/software.
